Legitimate electrolysis machines on eBay part 3

That would be me. Sorry for anyone who was bidding on this… I know machines are hard to come by since I have been trying for a while to get one. I got outbid on an apilus senior, never received my VMC that I won, so hopefully this one will come through.

Ah so someone from here did get it. Well the advice I gave before still counts, look at the adds I posted links for the other day, the one for 750 and the one for 799 are still good prices for a junior. The senior for 800 wasnt a bad deal either.

Seana

Looks like I already got some more bad news… The seller requested to cancel the transaction and the reason was because she said she made a mistake with the price. I of course denied it and sent her a message of frustration and disappointment. Very upset this is happening…

atticusfata

Congratulation on winning the bid. And I don’t think seller have the right to cancel the auction after it finished just because he doesn’t like final price. It would kinda defeat the purpose of auctioning. of You should contact ebay support.

Yes, I’m with Shrike on this matter Atticusfata. I’ve been watching this also, and looked at the bidding cycle. It was a fair bidding war, the seller purposely started the bid at .99 and even answered questions concerning the condition of the system. The answer was it was in perfect working order, the reason it was being sold was because they got another system. So to try and cancel the auction because they didn’t get the ‘result’ they were after is ridiculous and they should have started the bid out at what they truly wanted for it. I think you should definitely send complaint to Ebay, this is NOT fair auctioning… in fact when one sets a bid they click on a electronic agreement that they will pay that amount should they win the auction, and Ebay (according to the seller/buyer agreement page) holds you to it. So why would a Seller be able to carry an auction to the end and then try and refuse the winning bid amount simply because they didn’t like the final amount?? Contact Ebay and make a complaint.

Atticusfata,
I’d be very careful with this one. I honestly dont know whether to tell you to pay for the auction or not. It was earlier reported that this seller had it with a buyitnow option for 2000 or somesuch. But in looking at their feedback, their score is only 18, and every one of the comments seem to be as a “buyer” not a seller. It’s my concern that if you do pay for the item, it may not get delivered anyway. They clearly were hoping for a bidding war that didnt happen. Although it did go up over $100 in the last few minutes, this looks like a case of sellers remorse by a dishonest seller. If they had made a mistke in picing, they could have ended the auction early and corrected it. They didnt do that. Beware.

Seana

yup… I’m with SeanaTG on this one… something didn’t ‘feel’ right about this auction for me when I was watching it… and then hearing your story… and now SeanaTG’s investigation… I’d definitely be CAUTIOUS on this… there are reasons for the seller to have such low marks…

Well I had paid as soon as the auctioned ended and was refunded my money. The seller refused to sell me the machine and ebay can’t force this person to send it to me either so I am going to leave negative feedback. I talked to ebay they told me the seller has to pay a penalty (10% of item final price) but other than that and leaving negative feedback there is not much else I can do but look for something else and hope for the best. Thank you guys for the info and concern, I was a little worried myself but I guess beggars can’t be choosers right haha

Atticusfata, as I mentioned before check the listings I already posted. You could probably get alot more machine or similar for about the same price. Lower if the sellers will bargain.

Seana

Yes Atticusfata, I checked into the postings that SeanaTG left and just got a Fisher CB-X in perfect working order (barely used) for $699 (plus shipping)… it is from Canada so the transactions take a bit longer than if you are here in the states, but in the end, I basically got a $3,000 piece of equipment for around $750… so don’t give up!! The deals are out there…

Yes I did see your posts Seana on several of your posts that came from kijiji but I thought it was like craigslist where you meet up with people locally. Also a lot of the posts are in a different language and I never bought anything from this site before. I am still a little unsure about doing that since I know if pay someone on ebay and they don’t send it I can still get my money back but on here I just don’t know.

Poohbrmi congratulations on your purchase. I’m curious about the whole buying process from this site can you fill me in a little on how you went about it?

It is basically like craigslist. In fact they have a US version f that site but it’s no where near as popular. . You are absolutely correct that when you buy something from there, there are ZERO buyer protections. That said, I’ve generally had good luck. Is it possible to get ripped off? Undoubtedly. Ideally, you deal locally.I’ve never found someone unwilling to ship if you paid the shipping though.

Is this a legitimate device?

The single intensity and and timing dials, tells me this is a single mode thermolysis machine. It is indeed professional quality but probably not what you want to learn to use on. You want to be looking for something that does blend . The advice others give you here is good , start with galvanic and only once your insertions are perfect and you have several thousand insertions down pat, should you even consider to learn thermolysis.

Which reminds me, here are some recent electrolysis equipment ads for Ontario and Quebec:

That’s it for now… Please note that all of thee ads are buyer beware, there is NO buyer protection like there is on EBAY. Also note that for the majority of quebec ads, you will likely need to communicate in french in order to work a deal. Worst case scenario, try google translate. I see a few bargains in there, especially the servo blend for 474, the Apilus junior for 500 and the fisher for 350. Heck…maybe I’ll buy the fisher .Meh maybe not, I still owe Nightfrost $100 from my first machine. A nice backup might be nice though, or a loaner for some of the people I’ve encouraged.

And yes James, I did note the price on the SM-500. Glad I got what I did.

is it really a good idea to do electrolysis yourself? it sounds dangerous

if it were so easy, people would do this instead of LHR since a single LHR treatment is at least 200 dollars or something

Yes, it is dangerous!

But it can be done, at least after some professional training - of course with massive limitations. I did and i am aware of these limitations: You simply cannot reach all parts of the face adn many other regions of the body as well.

Electrolysis can run you alot more than 200 dollars. Lets look at what it costs to do an average male face of 200 or so hours of electrolysis at $60 an hour . That’s $12000 . That’s quite a bit of cabbage. Laser? $300 a session, and I’ve done 11 sessions…and the hair ISNT all gone ( or I wouldnt be doing electrolysis) . That’s $3300. No ,matter how it’s doone, hair removal is NOT cheap.Laser wont do greys and wont get all hair. On some people it will have no effect at all. There is always electrolysis to do after laser.

I’m living proof it isnt a really BAD idea to do yourself but I’m also first to admit it’s not for everyone. And I have a partner who also does work on me, in the areas I cant. It’s not cheap and there is a lot of learning to do. I easily have over $1000 invested, and I got my equipment cheap. It can be difficult to do insertions on ones self, so it is a REALLY good idea to trade off with someone also learning.
It can however be done safely. And it’s always good to have a new skill isnt it?

SeanaTG
Thanks, appreciate the advice.

Shrike,
If it were me I’d be getting in contact with either the CB-X vendor or the apilus Junior vendor. Like now. I’d like to see you up and running, you’ve been looking at machines for a while now and those are both excellent machines.

Seana

I’ve sent emails for the CB-X and the ST 250, still no reply as of today. Sent them yesterday. I hope they email me!
