SeanaTG,
Problem is, I live in Russia. So ordering pricey device from site with no buyer protection or even seller reputation system seems to much of a gamble to me. That if they’d even agree to send it here. Thus I have to stick with ebay.
That’s unfortunate
Yeah I feel like ebay is the way to go if there were more honest sellers out there. I seem to have a lot of bad luck there recently.
I tried contacting one person on kijiji to see what they would say on the for the silouete tone 250. I used a translator to send the message since it was in french and the person told me they wouldn’t ship. I would be too worried about asking for the higher priced machines in the fear I would lose all that money and receive nothing. I am not in a position to take that chance either : /
Any pros have an extra machine laying around collecting dust?
Prestige Electrolysis has a used product section online. There are usually a few epilators listed there.
I understand, this device is totally legitimate. Do I also need those parts they mentioned in description this deice lacks?
Turned out they only sheep to commercial address, so offer is useless.
Texas electrolysis advertises that they ship overseas.
The advantage Shrike has with his ebay add, aside from shipping addres, is that machine is already wired for european outlets which work on a different voltage whereas anything from Texas Electrolysis Supply may not be.I dont know Carleton machines at all Shrike so I cant tell you if they are any good or not. It looks like an older, but solid machine, beyond that who knows.
The cords you would need to get started, appear to be included. I’ve never heard of a machine that has different probeholders depending on if you are using a sensor or pedal. That seems odd. You wouldnt necessarily need a anaphoresis or cataphoresis roller to do basic eelectrolysis.
Edit:If you DO have to choose between automatic or foot pedal control, and you are learning, the decision is easy. Go for the foot pedal. You shouldnt be doing automatic for a while anyway.
I’d also assume, you have already been studying if you are looking at machines? Aside from Michaels book, another good source is Milady’s Hair Removal Techniques . Find it on Amazon or barnes and Noble’s. Lots of good physiology informtion in that one.

Ok well these don’t come up often so was worth noting. A little out of my price range, but a girl can dream cant she?
Seana
That’s a pretty neat device Seana. Wouldn’t that be difficult to use regularly for electro work? It seems like it would be hard to know what you’re looking at (or difficult to constantly adjust). It also seems like it would be really neat (depending on the magnification)
I’d be the wrong person to ask, as I dont use a stereo microscope. But many of the pro’s here swear by them.

Finally got myself a Silhouet Tone ST-250
congratulations…welcome to the soon to be hairless club!
If you need any help, dont hesitate to give me a shout.

Congratulations templje on your purchase. Please keep us posted on your progress. Where did you buy your machine?
I am still in talks with some people from kijiji about an Apilus senior. A lot more than what I wanted to pay but I am getting impatient
Hey,
I bought it from a lady in Florida. She had only used it twice. I still haven't figured out how I am going to do some of the work on myself due to not being able to see the areas well. I am considering a microscope/ipad/camera setup, that way I could just watch the ipad and not have to try to wrench my neck around etc. I have also gotten some of the Laurier probes. I'm really liking them. I'm also trying to figure out my settings with this machine. I'm sure the presets will eventually come in handy, but I had really good releases with my old manual Hinkle and 2 pedals. What I would give for a highly motivated DIY partner!!
You wont be able to do some of the insertions on yourself. Some areas like the chin and upper lip are very doable. But you will find depending on whiich hand is dominant for you one side of your face you can insert very well or with some effort, the other nearly impossible. I tried a few brow hairs last night , and found they were nearly impossible to do on yourself. Under the chin in an equally difficult area.
Your best bet is to have an “electrolysis buddy” . I’m lucky in that I have a life partner ( nightfrost) who is very willing to help me, he has spent countless hours working on the areas I cant see or reach possibly. But he’s a limited resource, he is only over here one day a week usually and so the best I get is 4-5 hours with a slow, learning hand. I’ve tried some things to make insertions easier, they havent worked that well in some cases, and really well in others. In short, if you are working on your face you will need help.
I havent tried an ipad/ microscope setup. I’m highly tempted to but I have other expenses to look forward to, I need a esthetics bed and stool to help nightfrost with ergonomics. That’s the "proven to work " method and so it comes first. I dont know of any evidence to suggest an electronic setup is in any way usable for DIY unfortunately.

Hey,
I just ordered a USB microscope to see how it works. I mainly want to do my arms, chest/abdomen, and maybe some bikini work. I have tried to convince a few family members to learn how to do it. No luck so far. I may eventually try to clear my chin and mustache a few times, but I have to get my insertions better first. I'll let you know how the USB microscope works. If it doesn't, I can still use it for amusement
These will go fast!
Instantron BlendTone machine $149 plus shipping, 2 available
These are selling cheaper than the scams from AAVOX and GLOBAL.
Clareblend UltraBlend bidding starts at $300
And for those of you in Merry Ole England:
Carlton CC 337 AutoBlend GBP 349.99
Fun to see the old Clareblend machine.
Clareblend Model 81-1 $395
I worked with Marge Smith (owner) to develop her first blend. What you see is the design I did for the face-panel (the very first one was blue). I designed the meters, entire face panel, and the company logo … and (actually) re-named the company: Clareblend.
When I started working with Marge, the company was called “Clare, Inc.,” and their logo was a “German Iron Cross,” the WWI version! (I never understood that whatsoever! I mean, her name wasn’t even “Schmidt!”)
It was a really fun time, and Marge (now retired) was a “kick” to work with.
Her real innovations came from her years of working in the dental field. Marge’s equipment designs integrated everything into one beautiful stunning unit. I wish I had taken photos of her designs, because they are still unmatched by ANY manufacturer today.
Problem is, (and I attended conferences with her to showcase her designs); NOBODY was interested. Nobody would go the extra expense for these amazing beauties. Marge used to say, “Well, most of them practice ‘kitchen electrolysis’.”
Another Apilus Senior II on ebay:
I’m constantly amazed at the prices for electrolysis machines on ebay. To me $1800 is a lot of money. But at least it sounds like an honest seller, and there are some extra’s thrown in ( two copies of michaels book!) .
I did see a couple of adds that may be of interest on kijiji though:
An Apilus platinum ( no not the pure):
Totally out of my league, though a girl can dream, but 5000 dollars is way out of my price range. !
A Cleo for $979:
