Electrolysis/permanent scars

Pssst!
Vitamin C is the main thing the body needs to produce skin healing collagen. For best results, take 1,000mg to 2,000mg every 2 hours, and if you have some free time, get a vitamin C powder or liquid, and use that directly on the skin. If you get the powder, you mix it with a liquid, like a dab of water and apply on the skin. Or, if you want to have a more intense treatment on a possibly infected area, get plain milk of magnesia and use that as the liquid to add to your Vitamin C, it will dry (you could blow dry it to speed the process) and will have a protective crust infusing the area with vitamin C, magnesium, and in some cases, calcium, potassium and bioflavenoids (the products used will vary the additional beneficial ingredients).

oh there is more of “us” here :frowning:
i really think that yours will heal too…where do you have scars?when did you get yours scars?tell me about it? does it looks like mine? i had that poor electrolysis treatment 5 months ago, and i was very, very sad and disappointed that time…i really believed that it won’t get better at all…well it’s much better now, but i’m still hoping that it will fill in all the way…if you want some advices (from me - cause I’m going trough it, just send me PM i would be glad to help you! i know how much it means!)

hey sista!
well i don’t do anything special…i tried some of methods that james mentioned…but i really don’t think it made progress cause there is no method i’ve used longer than 2 weeks  i’m constantly trying different things…i used vit C for 2 weeks, but in much smaller doses than james said…than i try it with aloe vera gel…now i stopped with everything…i just keep moisturizeing the area and that’s all…how long do you have your pits?
p.s. thank you guys!well as i said i do hope that this will continue its healing!! i hope that it wont stay like this cause im not content at all!!

I would not want to be thought to be leading you to purchase a particular brand, but here in the states, NOW Brand products are pretty good. The great news is that Vitamin C powder or crystals are easy to find. It is not like Aloe Vera, where we have to try to navigate you away from less potent or inactive products. The only difference between Vitamin C’s would be the presence or absence of bio-flavenoids which are the difference between a sour sweet taste, or a bitter taste. Of course, if you are putting it on your skin, you don’t taste it at all anyway.

I’m not sure how long I’ve had it for, but I think I developed it from a blackhead which I tried to squueze out and now a pit remains. I didn’t know that one should not do that at the time. Question for the electrologists: sometimes a hair grows out of that pit (on the nose) which is of course small. If I get electrolosis done on it, do you think it will help remove the pit, not do anything at all apart from rmeove the hair, or deepen the pit?

I won’t take it that you are leading me to a particular brand, but any examples of links so I know what I am looking for?

removing the hair would just remove the hair, as long as it was done well.

Now you owe me a #7 Manchester United jersey Beckham or Ronaldo will do

Thanks! Okay. I’ll send it.

Hello Dee,

I am reading this forum from a long time…It looks all people are very helpful here and are giving great advises.

Actually I have some confusion regarding electrolyis.I am a male and have some hairs on my cheeks and on the ear that I want to remove by electrolysis.First I was considerig to do laser but my skin type is not good for laser that is type IV.

Some of these hairs are dark and some are fine.

I did one consultation with an electrologist one week before.I am very afraid about the scars.

She took some hairs from ear and some hairs from cheek on one side of my face.

There are no redness I feel. But there was little swelling at one place on my face and got scabs on ear.

On the face where there was little sweeling here looks lille dark.

What you think what i should do…I should continue with her these are normal side effects…

I am very concerned if I get scars or hypepigmentation from electrolyis.

Thank you very much, I really need your help because my appointment is coming next monday.

Jimmy

All sounds normal to me. You can reduce the healing time by using tea tree oil overnight, and maybe aloe vera during the day. You can also increase healing power by upping your vitamin C intake by at least 1,000 mg, and swelling is lessened if you get at least 600 mg of vitamin E in your system as a baseline. For this, you would want to take 200 mg 3 times a day for at least 3 days prior to your appointment, and keep taking it for at least 3 days afterwards.

Of course, even without doing these things, you would heal up fine.

People mix up the meaning of temporary side effects and scarring frequently. They are not the same. You are witnessing temporary side effects and these should ideally heal within a week. Express your concerns to your electrologist so she can make adjustments in the energy and timing levels. You are new to her so give her a chance to refine levels.

James’s advice is good. Get some tea tree oil and aloe. Use those products for a couple days or so. Tea tree oil at bedtime (just a dab) and aloe during the day as much as you want. Keep the areas clean with witch hazel.

Hyperpigmentation happens to some people. It all depends on your healing powers and your immune system response to skin trauma. Hyperpig fades with time. I, too, think your healing sounds normal, but always discuss your concerns with your electrologist so she/he can try to reduce the temporary side effects.

Let us know how things go for you on Monday.

Dee

Hi Dee,

Thanks for your response and advise. She told me to not use water or any cream on face for two days. But use some fluid not cream on face afterwards. So what you think about it, the face washes if I use them during healing time if they will have some side effect on area being treated.

Otherwise which products I can use or this is normal to use any product after 2 days.

Thanks.

Jimmy

Hi James,

Thanks for your reply. Can I get the tablets for vitamin C and E.Or some thing else.?

Thanks.

Jimmy

Vitamin tablets are just fine.

We tell our people to keep the treated areas clean and dry for the first day or 3. You just don’t want to do a lot of sweating, or get the area really dirty during that time.

James thanks for your reply.I have seen some people claim that they get wrinkles and more hairs near the area they treated. Is this really the case?

I am sorry,I am asking so many questions but i need to clarify everything before I continue.

Thanks.

Jimmy

Face washes are okay as long as they are mild. I like the witch hazel, aloe vera gel and tea tree oil “triangle” of aftercare for my clients. Sometimes we delete the tea tree oil part- some people don’t need it. You can follow your practitioner’s favorite aftercare remedies and if all goes well, great! If it doesn’t, try the above and compare. THe worse thing people do is touch their face or other treated areas with dirty hands or they go out and do something sweaty. Use your common sense and “baby” the treated area for about three days. If you have trouble healing and people notice your healing skin, tell your electrologist so she can change her strategy or levels of enery.

Dee

Hi Dee,

I have another question.During my consultation she used only one kind of needle but I have some hairs that are fine and some hair are dark.Is this ok that she uses the same kind of needle for both type of hairs or she should use another size of needle.

Thanks.

Jimmy

When you note, “fine” hairs and “dark” hairs, you mean thin hairs and thick hairs?
If indeed you are referring to thin hairs and thick hairs, then yes, it would be appropriate to use 2 different size needles. Many machines are set up to hold 2 different needles during the same treatment. Since you indicate that this was a demonstration during a consultation, she might not have wanted to waste too many supplies as the electrology consultation is usually free for the prospective client.

All the best,

Hi,

Thanks for your reply.I already post a question on forum that some people claim that they got wrinkles or got new hair growth near the area treated by electrolysis. If this is really the case and what is the possibility for these side effects?

Thanks.

Jimmy

I never saw more hair growth or wrinkling as a result of electrolysis. The condition of the skin actually improves. Where is this information coming from? Are you sure the posts are about electrolysis?
