My name is Jessie and I have read alot of threads and posts about how alot are still not believing that electrolysis works… I have some proof.
I started my treatments on my chest a little more than a year ago and with ALOT of patience I now have no hair left.
I will upload the photos in a day or two… and I am now doing my face… so hopefully that goes well for me.
Wish me luck and hope you guys get motivated after this.
Jessie
Give your electrologist a big, heartfelt hug. It takes a lot of stamina to do a chest for both the electrologist and the client. Did you start off with laser hair reduction first and then switch to electrolysis or was it all done with electrolysis?
Curious to know how many hours and cost involved? Type of electrolysis? microflash? picoflash? blend? multiple needle? Type of epilator? > Apilus, Silhouet-Tone, Fischer, Clareblend, Gentronics, Hinkel, Instatron??? Was it very ouchy?
Dee
Thanks for the questiones Dfahey.
Well, I never had laser done on my chest before. The hairs were not thick but not super thin either when I started in Febuary of 2008. The appts were weekly. Though to be honest I think I would have finished alot faster if I would have kept alot of them. I would cancel alot.
So in hours… hmm… I would say maybe around 80 hours? Maybe a little more or a little less… price… $80 for each hour.
The type was thermolysis and let me say this about thermo; if done by someone who knows, your skin will look great after. Yes, the skin will look horrid in the first couple of months. I would cry thinking my chest would look red and burnt when I would get home but with time, it heals.
Type of needle I dont really know, and it was an Elite Instatron.
Pain? Well I think that with the 4 advils I took, the pain was minimal. But worth it…
Now I am on to my face, starting mustache and chin hair… and I pray all goes well.
I hope you liked my answer and the pictures, as I mentioned will be up in a couple of days for all those that are loosing hope.
Dont do it! I was about to also but I shall show you that its worth it… all you need is PATIENCE.
Feel free to ask question and I will answer
Jessie.
Thanks for doin this Jess. We do appreciate it. Best of luck with the face too, I know that’s a big priority. J
Hi Jessie:
I know it works from personal experience.
I’m just curious as to why you started on the chest rather
than the face first?
With most people it is the face first since that is an area
you can’t cover, and there is no way to hide a beard
shadow without grossly thick camoflage type makeup.
Anyways good luck with your treatments, and you are right
about people needing to “believe”.
Alicia
Hey Alicia!
Well the reason I explain to the eager faces of my friends why I decided to do the chest first is because I love V necks… so I could easily shave on a good day and have my chest hair free… But to me it looked horrible not being able to wear anything vneck even if I shaved my face to go out. Since V necks makes the look more femenine to me, I decided the chest first
Now can someone explain to me how to post the pics? lol
I would really appreciate it
Thanks
Hi Jessie:
V-necks, scoops, etc. are a big part of women’s fashion,
so I can see how you would want to not have to worry about
hair in that area, even if it was just under the skin.
I’m getting my chest and stomach done right now,
but the chest has shown amazing results and I can see
how you would be happy with your results.
I’m finished with my face, but it took a while to get to
the point where I was completely satisfied. It makes a big
difference not having to use foundation or even worse
camoflage makeup to cover a beard shadow.
I am looking forward to seeing your photos and hearing of
your progress when you start your facial electrolysis.
I did… but its still a mystery as to how I can post a pic here…
Some folks get “chest rash” from shaving their chest (PFB bumps that appear hours or days later as they hair starts growing back and into the skin.) A chest rash can be really nasty like PFB bumps on the neck. For those folks, they have limited options if they want to show anything below the neck, and removing it with electrolysis might make sense.
Let’s just say I know at least one person who has this problem and wants their chest hair removed for this reason
The photos are uploaded but what do you mean post the HTML tags here?
Where?
Im sorry im kinda dumb for this… its amazing I love nerds but dont have any nerdines in me. lol
I know Dee is smiling right now.
My dear Luxury82, it would appear that you may need to call me on the phone and have me talk you through this one. Alternately, you could email me the pictures, and I could take it from there.
There you go, service above and beyond the call of duty.
Great pictures of your facial areas, but in your original post, I thought you were referring to uploading pictures of your chest showing the results of electrolysis over the past year.
Dee
Hi:
Ewwh!! Yuck!!!
It will be nice to see the finished product.
I’m glad I don’t have any before photos of myself.
I can’t stand looking at the before since it really
wasn’t me.
I am sure that your hair removal professionals would love to be able to see your before and after.
Now let’s support Luxury82 in completing the journey. Once the First Clearance has been achieved, easy care and maintenance is not far behind. When Final Clearance is achieved, Luxury82 will be able to look back, or not, and say, “Wow, we really got a lot done!”
Just wanted to jump in here that you should consider laser for some of your areas that have coarse dense hair. Chest is usually great to treat with laser for example. Large areas with coarse hair would be cheaper to treat and with less treatments.
Don’t feel bad, I started out with a smiliar amount and type of facial hair when I started (I have more hair on my upper lip though ) It will be a long, long journey, but as James said if you get that first clearance and stick with it you will be amazed at what you can accomplish
