Part II: Laurier

That is indeed unusual Gretchen. The stem is gold plated, not just on the outside, but on the inside also and there is no insulation inside the stem. It will still retain full contact in that situation although it is not intended by any means.

It just occured to me…the 4.5 is tapered from .006" wire which is how thick it is at the stem. Bending it to an angle gives you quite a bit of leverage and surgical stainless is very tough. It is nearly impossible to twist so it can stand the rotational force to overcome the crimp. I wouldn’t worry about it. Like I said, it will maintain full contact with no problem.

(sorry about changing the subject)
Recently, I’ve been coming across the Laurier needles mentioned alot on this forum, and people seem to like them:). So I thought I’d give them a go too, but was wondering if you guys could give me your opinion on something first:

I’m sure the websites mentioned on laurierinstruments, where you purchase needles from are ‘safe’, but when I ‘proceed to checkout’ on the Prestige website, a warning message comes up saying it’s not trustable, which is kind of worrying - so wanted to know if anyone else has bought from them and if it’s safe to give card details?
Like the other sites mentioned on laurierinstruments, Prestige don’t have Paypal either, I’m kind of nervous as I always try to use Paypal…

I’d like the ‘Kelly’ needles too, but - unless I’m mistaken - none of the sites mentioned sell them…does anyone know where else I can buy them from?

Hey alisha,

Contact Mike Roy directly - you can get his email from his profile above “Laurier” or just email him through the website.

I’m sure he won’t be opposed to sending out some samples if you are not sure at this point.

I would recommend reading through this thread to understand why they are liked and other tips and tricks. They are meant for thermolysis, which is why they are being favoured by those with Apilus or similar machines. they The ‘Kelly’ tips are primarily for treating fine fuzz… those shallow telogen hairs.

I was not worried about it and I knew the contact was not affected. I liked it, I thought it was cool having that swivel option Mike. It’s like that perfect press fit, it wasn’t loose and it wasn’t going to fall out, and it was a Rock Star right to that last hair.

Alisha, Prestige is safe. I order from them often.

Thanks, Stoppit and Gretchen, have ordered from Prestige, they were really helpful

The .005" Short works wonderfully. I will upload a video in the coming days with very good image quality.

Laurier Tapered and Insulated IBP’s are now available to order from the UK.

You can find me here on Hairtell;
on Hairshoot:

and on my e mail which you will see on my Hairtell profile.

These needles are special
; they are top quality, kinder to skin than any other needle I have tried, more comfortable by design AND they give us access to interactive product development thanks to the dedication and genuine industry interest of their manufacturer, Mike Roy.

I want all our european and UK electrolysis specialists to be able to try these special needles and buy them with the most convenience and least expense.

June

Oh, that’s fantastic, June.
I was just thinking of ordering some.
Have you got the Kelly tips in stock?

Good news. I’ll need to check my stocks soon.

Throughout my entire career, I have finished many cases of woman face, but few of them have touched my heart like this. Women 26 years of age. Victim of previous laser failure, and under-treatment by Electrolysis in her country of origin. This beautiful girl is almost over with a serious problem of hair which would have ruined her life. I’m glad I agreed to work on this girl, and it was a pleasure to meet her.
Before:(December 2012)

After 3 clearances (Last clearing in early March 2013)

I’m glad I had a Laurier IBP to make this work. Everything was easier.

BINGO! Another success story. This is going on the Electrolysis Success Stories thread, Josefa!

I’d like to let everyone know we are now shipping our uninsulated tapered needles individually pouched and sterilized like the IBP’s. They are still available in 1 dozen sleeves but we are also shipping them in packs of 50.

This is new for us and the distributors as well. Please be patient with them as they adjust their stock.

Thats interesting and important. Thanks very much. What about pricing?
Will the IBPs also be available in packaging of 50??

BTW: for a transitional time i could live with the old packaging.

You are aware tat we need an expiry time stamped on the probes to be formally correct? At least here in Germany, but as far as i understand the regulatons in Your country, thje FDA demands this as well.

No Beate the FDA does not. Let me point out again that the IBP can be re-sterilized. It’s package can also. If there is any question of sterility you just need to toss the peel pouch in your autoclave and run it through a cycle. The package and the Probe will be fine and you will not need a radiation containment facility to do this. You will for any other brand if you want to leave it in it’s package.

As it is we put them through twice the required autoclave sterilization cycle before they are put into the sleeves.

If it is a sale point for your customers. I suggest you put a client’s probe through a sterilization that morning and you can tell them their Probe was sterilized a second time for them.

To the testers: are we coming to any conclusions about the .060" and .065" tips yet ? I don’t want to rush you. Cases that require such a large Probe are rare.

The .007" wire has been put through treatment and straightening. We should have blanks to work with in a week or so. The 6’s you’re testing will lead us to the exposed tip length we will need for the 7’s

Mike, please keep in mind that the (fairly new) rules here in Germany, especially in Hessen but following European Guidelines, are fairly strange: we are not allowed to run an autoclave, and dry heat sterilisation is not accepted any more in any way. Formally, the only thing we are allowed to do is disinfection.

The abovementioned issue of expiry date is also such a formal thing. The Ballet owner did point that out hiere in this community earlier this year.

So we would be required to enter informal paths if we intended to be better than allowed. Strange world.

So by law you cannot sterilize your forceps ?

We have a government here that operates in much the same way

Lots of orders being taken for UK and European electrolysists. Thank you for your business.

I am currently in the process of building a new website and cannot update content on my existing site at this time.
Your patience is truly valued.

James, I’d really like to hear your input on the longer tipped 6’s. Your 7’s are in work now and will fly by about mid week. They will have .050", .055", .060" and .065" tips.

I think your wish will be found in that assortment
