My Electrolysis Journey

Hi everyone,

It’s been a long long time since I lasted posted-so sorry!

Firstly, soujou, I’m am so sorry to hear about your experience. It truly made me sad. I know how much courage it takes just to make an appointment and then allow someone perform such a personal treatment such as electrolysis.

I can confidently recommend Stephanie, based near dorking, at epilsoft.

Am trying to take pictures and calculate the hours of treatment I have had so far. I’m not 100% finished yet, just a couple of stubborn buggers left now.

I hope everyone is doing well.

Best wishes,

Pokka

stoppit - has he tried accutane?

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to quickly post to say sorry for not finishing this thread. The hair obsession began to disappear and then my life began taking on a different speed setting.

I am in the process of compiling the dates and treatment time so that I can post up that info with a now picture. I am going to try to get pictures with a DSLR, so that you can really see how the treated areas now look.

I didn’t get full clearance, as that was never my goal. I am now rid of all the long hairs that settled post IPL and laser. It may take a few days to get this done.

Best wishes,

Pokka x

Pokka! So great to see you here. Looking forward to your photos. Hope you’re well.

Hi Stopit! I know it’s been so long… I’ve just been reading the your posts for your sister’s treatment. The progress looks fantastic. I’m well and I hope you are too.

Hi Everyone,

Here are the Pictures of the treated areas, as promised:

Next up will be the Treatment info. Will try to post this up within a couple of days.

Pokka

P.S. sorry about the goosebumps… had to take these outside to get good lighting

I just checked our your before photos and the results are great! Very happy for you.

Will be interesting to hear how many total hours you put in over what time period.

And if your electrologist ever did upgrade from the Cleo!

Hi everyone.am sorry for what am about to do.
Please i have a question.
Since aloe vera gel is really good for the skin(as said in this electrolysis forum),would it be good to cure back acne scars that have been on my back for years.

mam, I personally don’t think you will find aloe vera that useful, although it is soothing.

You just need to get some rosehip oil and try and massage it onto your back or get someone to do it for you - daily. This is providing they are pigmented scars.

You can buy 100ml for £6 from naturallythinking. I also buy a small glass dropper bottle with pipette lid for daily use.

Your skin looks good…even I used to get lot of my compliments for my skin but i dont like my skin as well as its glow.I am really happy for you.

Thanks stopit. The rosehip oil must be really good because i have noticed that is what you always recommend for anything.I am hoping it work son my back. Can i apply a little on my face?

mam, I think it is a great skincare product. Great for moisturising and great for hyperpigmentation and skin conditions such as eczema. As you have noticed, I talk about it a lot.

I apply it on my face twice daily to moisturise. I dampen a cotton pad with witch hazel, drop a drop of rosehip on this and then swipe over my face and neck. I need a few drops (used one at a time) to cover my whole face. I still use a normal moisturiser on top because it has spf but I don’t need to use a lot.

OK.dats good.I s the witch hazel sold in boots goood?where should i get witch hazel from?

You can get them both from naturally thinking, the quality is really good and the prices too.

Rosehip Oil
Blue-Dropper-Bottle
Pipette

Witch hazel water
Atomiser for witch hazel bottle

Rosehip oil is great gives your skin a glow hydrates is not greasy and contains a form of vitamin A which we all need to replenish daily as skin supplies are decreased by exposure to UV light

Thanks alot dolphin and stoppit already ordered.

Hi Everyone,

I have finally collated all my treatment info, gone over my little electrolysis jot book with bookings, reactions, costs etc and come up with the following total.

In total I had 29.5 hours of electrolysis on sides of my face, jawline, chin, and sides of lips. Treatment was spread out over 1 year and 3 months. In the beginning the appointments were longer, in order to clear as much as possible without over treating, twice a month. As the hair became more sparse the appointments were shorter but in general were still scheduled twice a month.

I hope this log helps provide some info to those out there looking into electrolysis. I have gained so much confidence since having completed my treatment. My skin suffered for a little while. Although that is just my sensitive skin and this journey has proved that even with very sensitive skin and perseverance electrolysis is most certainly possible - and that’s without any long term damage or scarring I am very happy to report.

In the middle of my treatment I had a few pores which looked very large but over time these have shrunk back to normal.

I followed the advice on this forum and from my electrologist with regards to aftercare, sun protection etc., with the exception of tea tree oil, as it just made me break out (again, I must stress this is just something I found, and MANY people have used tea tree successfully for post treatment).

My Aftercare consisted of:

Months 1-5: Tea tree cotton buds, avene water, Witch Doctor Hazel skin treatment gel & Aubrey Aloe Vera.

I would avoid sun as much as possible, then 3 days later would apply Avene SPF 50 cream every day when going out.

A couple of times I applied Vitamin C powder directly to my face to aid in healing.

For 5 days post

Month 6-15: Same as above minus tea tree oil, as advised by my electrologist.

I would like to say one last thank you to All those who posted, replied and helped me along during were somtimes difficult times. Thank you doesn’t seem like enough, but i want you all to know that those words you took the time to type really made all the difference to me. I honestly feel like a different person, with my hair up in a ponytail in comparison to hiding behind my long hair. THANK YOU!!!

Are you still in Paris ?

I am not in Paris, France at this time.
