Mike's Electrolysis

Im not sure but I can ask when I see her this week. What would you like to know, the diameter of the probe?

Other than wasting time and money, my mustache has only served to make me look mexican, which Im not…No offense to Mexicans

And to hide this attractive nebus (mole). By the way, if you are interested in preserving it, try to avoid electrolysis on the hairs growing on it. This would be a shame to lose it.

I am interested in all, if you felt so much pain, if the work has been done with thermolysis, blend or galvanic, type of needle (insulated or not), if you feel the insertion, if you felt extraction of the hair.

I’m even considering to ask for an autograph, who knows? we may be witnessing the birth of a new star.

From what I know so far is that she is using Thermolysis. I dont feel much of an insertion but I can feel the pull. The pain is bearable, but deff not pleasant, especially on the nose area.

what do you mean i can feel the pull, please explain do you mean like the feeling of a hair being plucked?

Yes I feel the hair being plucked but 90% of the pain comes from the actual shock to the follicle its self . I have my third session today!

Next photo you submit, could you present it as it is with no photo shop? It is better to see honest outcomes. Don’t overdue with that hydrocortisone . It would be good to use soap and water, witch hazel, dabs of tea tree oil and nice cold soothing aloe vera gel, IMO. You can try some other aftercare regimes and compare. I like to keep aftercare as simple and pure as possible.

:frowning:

Just what I feared. If I were you I would worry less for a little redness, and more for high level of regrowth.

Sure! I only photoshoped it because I posted it on facebook.
This is the third treatment so far.It was the most painful out of all of them.GOD it was awful! I think I want to just get it all over will by this Thursday.

If you are not waiting a full week or two in between treatments, it can be more ouchy. How frequent are your appointments, mad?

Yes, I suppose you were very uncomfortable. It looks like the area under your nose got a lot of attention today. You will be elated after the first clearance, but fasten your seat belt. There is much more work to do as you wait for new hair and some regrowth to appear over the next several months, especially if you felt “plucking”.

I agree with Dee. In my case, it required at least two weeks between treatments for my skin to fully recover and settle back down.

Im only waiting a few days. I attempting to get the full thing done quick because if not, my mustache looks pretty absurd when it starts growing back in. I dont feel Most of the hairs that she is pulling out, but for some I feel a bit of a tug. She told me she zaps more than once so it becomes lose enough so that she wont have to pluck it.

Im feeling numbness and swellng right below my nose. is this normal?

Yes, it is.

How bad is it? I would delay getting treated tomorrow. Give your lip a chance to heal before you have another treatment. I don’t think you can endure the pain of being treated so soon again.

Its right below my left nostril. The area is hard and numb. I hope to god it isn’t some kind of nerve damage…

Swelling and numbness is a common part of the normal inflammation process. Still, I also would recommend waiting for all of this to resolve before going forward.

Repeated and frequent treatments in a dense-hair area? I like to see the inflammation resolve before going on. If your close-together treatment hurts more, that should be a sign to not do it!

Once skin is damaged, specific cells (fibroblasts) lay down “wound collagen” almost over-night (sort of a tangled mess, really). In time this structure is remodeled and refined. However, if the area is wounded soon after the first “assault,” those same chemical mediators de-construct the earlier wound collagen, and the wound has to start healing all over again.

This is just the physical reality of what happens (and why electrolysis can actually aid in reducing the appearance old scars). Does this “repeated treatment” lead to a delayed healing or poorer long-term outcome? Actually, I don’t know. My referring physician says, “It might.” Still, I am never aggressive with an upper lip … the upper lip is the ultimate area for perfect treatments and good after-care.

Thanks for the detailed response Michael! Ive only been getting the areas that havent been treated yet. You are right on the money when you say that its EXTRA painful when she gets too close to the previously treated areas. I just want the remainder to be gone so it doesnt grow back in un-natural :stuck_out_tongue:

^What they said.

For what it’s worth, although your treatment doesn’t sound great/efficient (plucking feeling & hardly any swelling), even if it was, you really wouldn’t want to be hair-free only to be left with really bad skin in it’s place because you didn’t give your skin enough time to heal between each session. It’s not noticeable on the moustache area, but you are applying a lot of heat to your skin by getting electrolysis done, in additional to chemical damage of the hair. As the biggest organ of the body and the most visible, let it protect itself with it’s natural auto-immune defence, just as it would with hives, bee stings or mosquito bites.

As the wiser ones say, if you’re going to do something, do it properly otherwise you’ll come to regret it!

One more thing - why not use a trimmer and call it designer stubble? Then, it should be hopefully long enough for electrolysis & will look okay too.

I can attest to Michael’s comments about scars. I have a 5yr+ old burn from oven use on my arm. After each electrolysis treatment (3 or maybe 4 inc. a touch up?), the burn mark has significantly blended in. I didn’t realise it was still there until my electrologist mentioned it.

Feeling a bit discouraged now. So you guys are telling me I run the risk of scaring, AND hair growing back. This really sucks… Secondly, my upper lip is still numb, and i see hair growing back in the treated areas already.

This is me right now. Theres still a part that hasn’t been treated and it looks ridiculous
