Any thing under the $500 range leaves you at the mercy of the luck of the draw on Ebay. Stay tuned to this thread, and do you own Ebay searches, and post questions on anything you have not noticed in the past pages here. I think it is safe to say that all the best machines have been talked about in this and its previous thread incarnations. (Part one and part II)
The Fischer CBX Compu-Blend
Galvanic, Blend and thermolysis all available on this computerized machine.
This Canadian Seller is willing to ship to Canada and the United States.
Hi - is this the one touch that is often mentioned. I am thinking of buying one to start off with, and possibly get a machine later on. Are there different types of one touch - is this one going to be effective?

All One Touches that I have ever seen are basically the same; they are galvanic based units, powered by a battery. They have a needle, and a dial to adjust the power. There is a metal on the needleholder which you touch with moist fingers, you insert the needle and that makes a complete circuit.
Since it it can perform galvanic electrolysis, in theory yes it can work. The One Touch is rather cumbersome to use and may not last long, but yes it can work.
Hi, apparently the link I posted was for a one touch but with a tweezer not needle, can someone post a proper one touch for me please?
Item # 190475084237 on Ebay today is an Apius Senior Two. The Buy It Now price is $2,000, but the owner is taking bids as well.
The Senior II is like an SX-500 without the printer and may not have certain programs, but can have them added into the software if they are not already on there to begin with.
For those looking for a professional machine for $500, act fast, because Ebay Item # 150527890117 is the Silhouet-Tone Servo Blend. You can cut out the bidding war by paying a buy it now price of $550.
Those of you who want to have a good laugh can check out Ebay Item # 140486034326 and see where someone is listing an Instantron SS-69 for $1300
Now, I will grant that this is the later computerized version onf the machine but, don’t we often see the ss-69 Tronco 4 stereo knob version of this machine for $100? It would be different if this were not a thermolysis only machine, but one can’t even use this to work on’s way up from galvanic to blend, and then go for the thermolysis.
Our UK cousins will like eBay item # 250732466888, a Sterex Blend Machine at a decent price. Happy bidding
Thanks for the heads up
Magical> I recently bought a new uni-probe lite from TES. I think is was $425. It is thermolysis only but my wife and I have been getting descent results with it. We bought an extra cable that holds Ballet and other F-shank needles. The uniprobe needles act like the Ballet two-piece so they are too flexible in the thinner sizes we mostly use. TES suggested the more expensive insulated needles but we have been getting better results with the regular stainless needles. We use mostly F3 regular and F2 short.
What area(s) are you treating? Did you have any trouble buying this unit? I thought they only sold epilators to electrologists or students.
we are doing her underarms and bikini
Don’t know of a good current offer but I wanted to make it known that I have my eyes awatchin’ for a reliable, blend-electrolysis unit for myself. Sure would be sweet if somebody gets a new machine for Christmas and was willing to sell one of their old (yet still very good) ones for a reasonable price. <3 Miz_M
What is a reasonable price to you, miz?
Dee-
I’ve been lurking for a while and am ready to buy whenever. I’ve been waiting for a sweet deal on ebay, but if I can buy from someone on this site, that would be even better. At least that way I would trust that it won’t be faulty (even with the epilator’s durability).
Anyway, I am looking to buy a starter blend epilator for $200-500, depending on value. If its more convenient or easier to use or something, I’d be willing to spend on the $500 side. I’ll most likely just take the advice of the forum on what’s a good price. What do you have?
How’s this deal? AR Hinkel UC-1 Electro Blend Epilator Unit INCOMPLETE - $300 buy it now.
Hey Dee, I guess I am done sitting here, feeling like the devil.
Welcome to full participation, Former Lurker. This deal you are looking at is in your range. The missing items you need to buy to have a fully functioning unit are going to cost you about $150 to $200 if purchased brand new. Should the unit need servicing, it will cost about $80 to $150 to fix anything on the unit.
If I were you, I would send it directly to Hinkel’s, or Texas Electrolysis Supply and have them look it over, and send it back with all the pieces missing from the auction. If you have someone who can check it out for you, you can just buy all the accessories and have that person check to see if everything is working, and if not, then you send it in for service only if it needs something done.
Apparently, one of our posters has completed work on themselves and is selling their machine on Ebay now.
For a barely used Apilus Senior Two check out ebay item # 260715456859 and get a deal.
How much more awesome is the Apilus Senior Two than the Hinkel UC-1? I’m sure its much better, but I’m looking at a unit for my wife and I to share and do work on eachother. Is the Apilus worth the extra cash? I’m a little daunted by buying the Hinkel and sending it in for everything. I’m military stationed in Japan, so would prefer to avoid extra steps.
In my opinion, absolutely, the Apilus Senior II is the better machine. The Senior II is a modern, current production machine, and the UC1 is fine but the Senior II offers so many more features. If you are serious about doing electrolysis for the long haul, I’d spend the extra money on the Senior II.
On the other hand, the UC1 is down to $229.45 right now.
