Silhouet-Tone 128
This a good one. Before I became electrologist, this is the epilator that my electrologist used on me for underarm hair removal in the early '90’s. Super good deal. Single needle galvanic, Blend and Thermolysis can be done on this later model Silhouet-Tone.

Anyone know how high someone should bid on this one for what it is worth,it does not come with a manual for example.Silhouet-Tone 128 (p.s. can a manual be purchased or downloaded from anywhere for info)ty
For info on the apilus junior on ebay now http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=180375888006&ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:US:1123
i offered them $1000 and i have a feeling they are looking for around $2200 from my emails with them. ““We would be happy to have $2500.00, but we are opened to a lower, but logical offer.”” Thats why i say they would probably take $2200.
Here is the hard part of this. What they want is what they would get if they sold this at an electrolysis convention or to a fresh electrolysis graduate. On Ebay, however, they would rarely get so lucky.
What you have to ask yourself is, “Am I willing to sit on this auction and bid what ever it takes, so that I don’t lose out to some last second snipper who outbids me by a penny?” If not, just negotiate a buy it now price that you both can live with.
Here is a SuperInexpensive thermolysis only unit.
I don’t recommend home users starting with Thermolysis, but for those who are looking to buy some cheap thermo-only mail order garbage, you would be better looking to see if you can’t win this for the same or less money as what you were going to pay the mail-order scammers.

The apilus is back up,they never sold it last time.I would guess the reserve is probably something like $1800 at least since there buy now is at $2500.And when i talked to them last time sounded like they would sell for $2200 is feeling i got.
I have a st 250 being delivered for 900 with some accessories tomorrow so i should be all set, found it on kijiji in Ontario.
This time they do say though on add if reserve not met they will give highest bidder a chance to negotiate a higher price so it may actuall sell,it probably is worth around $1800 if you wanted near brand new. But i saw a Junior plus $1300,a senior 2 $1600 and an sx-500 $1900 all on kijiji in montreal quebec that would talk down i imagine who also say near knew quality from a salon that closed down.
Hi, I’m from the UK and am looking to buy an electrolysis machine as a home user here.
The trouble is that the ones which seem to be recommended by you guys for non-pros are things like the Apilus and Silhouet-Tone machines, of which there aren’t many of here.
I see a number of Sterex machines for sale in the UK, in particular the SX-B 3-in-1 Blend machine. I remember James wrote a while back that they don’t have much to recommend them. Could you say why this is? And how much do you think is a good price to pay for one?
I’ve been looking for months now and I haven’t come across anything else. The machines with knobs seem a bit daunting - something computerised I think would be much better for me.
Any suggestions would be most welcome.
P.S. Is there a way to receive emails when someone answers to this topic?
Thanks
Hi again,
I’ve come across this available to buy: Esthetix Blend electrolysis machine by Ellisons. It comes with 3 knobs: one for DC, one for RF and another for the timer. I’ve never heard of the brand so what do you guys think of it for a homer user?
Thanks.
I can’t find so much as a picture of this machine online, but it is apparently a salon quality machine. I assume that it is a two pedal machine, as it only has one timing knob. This means that the thermolysis on the machine is always on as long as the pedal is pressed.
A Berkowits thermolysis only machine (is it really worth $1000 though?)

Clareblend Ultrablend

And another Clareblend Ultrablend at a higher starting bid

Sorry, but unless one were an electrologist who stubbornly wants to stick with a machine that the manufacturer doesn’t even make anymore, because they now sell Apilus machines instead of making models like this, I can’t see why anyone would look at this machine as being any different from an Instantron Tronco 4 SS-69.
In other words, I think they made an error in the placement of the decimal point. (My math and science teachers accused me of that all the time )
The first picture of the epilator that the Mom’s kid wants to sell is not worth more than $50! Did anybody notice that no probe holders come with this machine? Who ever buys it will have to pay $50 to $75 to replace those. Holy cow! I hope noone pays $1,000. for this dinosaur.
A very nice Clareblend Ultrablend, starts at $695 and buy it now for $800

This would be nice for a DIY’er. This is a solid epilator and always has been, but a busy electrologist might do better with other models. For a busy electrologist, I would definitely step it up to the higher end computerized brands like Apilus Platinum, Pure, SX-500 or the Silhouet-Tone VMC, Fischer and Clareblend Elegance. I don’t know much about the Elegance, though. It’s pretty new.
A similar machine, the Clareblend Miniblend, less features but a bit cheaper too. Also comes with the Bono book and some needles.

This is cutie pie. It’s small and was perfect for any electrologist that needed to travel with their equipment.
This is a perfect little dude for the DIY’er!!! It does galvanic, blend and manual thermolysis only and it doesn’t weigh much. I have all but forgotten about Clareblends mini-blend. I couldn’t use something like this in my electrolysis practice as it is too restricting. I need something more powerful and something that unleashes me so I can go faster.
One can call Clareblend and see if they have any used models sitting around so you can compare price. I don’t think they make this anymore, but they can service it.

What a find, an Instantron laser hair removal machine!
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=400065627054
(Ok, it is really an SS-69 Tronco 4, a thermolysis only machine that comes up often on eBay. It is the 70s faux woodgrain variant.)
Not a bad price, but does not come with a needleholder or footswitch, which will more than double the price.
And speaking of Instantron, an eBay favorite makes another appearance, an Instantron Elite. It comes with everything except an electrode (ground) and a red cable for the electrode.

A Uni-Probe UEP-100, affordable but a thermolysis only machine. Includes what appears to be a pack of Ballet telangiecastia needles.

A Fischer CBX, a newest CBX series 4 machine I believe, it looks exactly like a CBX-4 on the Fischer site except with woodgrain sides (James?)
Nice blend machine, if it is a series 4 it will do microflash thermolysis too.
