Legitimate electrolysis machines on eBay part 2

An older Fischer machine. It sounds like it might be someone from hairtell selling it judging by the description.

For the pros, a Silhouet-Tone VMC for $1600!

The Proteus machine is still there, now down to $600

Good deal on the VMC, if they don’t back out. It really should sell at a higher price than the starting bid.

An Apilus SX-500 starting at $650!

The listing says it was made in East Providence RI… could this be from the company we all know as “Instrantron” today?

Um, yeah, that’s made by the company that became Instantron. You don’t miss a beat.

Now if I were still considering an electrolysis museum, this would be a must have item.

OH, by the way, not that I expect anyone to want to use this, but it actually would work, if restored, and both Instantron AND Texas Electrolysis Supply would be able to fix it for the buyer. The cost would be around $70 to $100.00 and they might even add blend capabilities to it if you asked nicely.

James, yes I am a regular Sherlock  I remember seeing an online electrolysis museum long ago, with a picture of that unit, but I am too tired right now to try and find it. Maybe later. If I had room for it and a place to display it, I would definitely buy the unit myself.

The interesting thing about it was that it seemed to be marketed as a home electrolysis device. For $1, it is cheaper than a One Touch, and will probably last a century longer

I believe I saw those pics of antiques on Instantrons web site. Pearl…

Here is the site I was thinking of. I think they added some new ones since I last saw it. (Check out the one from the 30s shaped like an old fashioned candle phone, and the Stanley Kubrick inspired 2001 Kree model.)

Mighty funny the LASER college has an electrolysis museum. There are actually lots of LASER machines no longer in production already. I guess they don’t want to discuss that.

Lorenzo had an electrolysis school before his laser school existed. St. Pierre and Hinkel were Lorenzo’s uncles, one paternal, one maternal.

He also lists Michael Bono and Fino Gior as references. Somewhere on the site it says they still offer electrology classes.

Hey, I was only making light of the fact that there are no retired LASERs pages.

Just for giggles, I thought about that and realized the cutoff date for the museum is 1990 (for whatever reason 1990 was chosen as the cutoff date  ) I assume there were no laser hair removal machines before 1990, which might explain the absence of laser machines?

Or, those laser machines are so expensive, they are rarely retired and/or recycled for parts in some manner?

I am sure that it is much like the last of the X-Ray Hair Removal machines. The last one was in use until around 1976, when the owner could no longer find anyone willing to fix it, or sell parts for it, due to liability issues. (Keep in mind that it was well known that X-Ray Hair Removal caused radiation sickness by the 50’s)

Here is something I don’t see very often on eBay, a multi-needle machine. A Clareblend Nova 2000.
