Laser hair removal from Medicam.ca Best service ever on the net.

I personnaly own 2 lasers units. a DMD2500 and a DMD9000. People have to understand that these machines do not do miracles. Since they are a lot smaller, they work but it takes more time, THe DMD2500 took 5 sessions and some time during each sessions to notice a little result. The DMD9000 was very good. it has 3 little COHERENT beams and is powerful. After the 3rd session i lost 20% of the hair and I’m still using it. Do not expect fast results unlest you go with the large beam diode laser DMD9000. I personnaly had 5 sessions of laser hair removal in a clinic to my underarm and my legs with a highly professional laser (these machines at 100,000$) and i did not lose a single hair. How can i get my money back??? i cannot because as in any clinic they have you sign an assent before the 1st treatment. Each person will react differently to the treatment. That is what i was beeing told. So, if I spend $5000.00 buying a small machine, I will do as many sessions as it take to get rif of all my hair. I own the machine and i can do it whenever i want without throwing away my money in a clinic who will not even guarantee the result. I bought it from the company medicam, they have great support and an incredible knowledge. They will tell you not to expect miracle and i appreciated that they did not want to sell me a DMD2000 when I told them that I wanted to treat my legs. The DMD9000 is a great machine and it works. Medicam.ca will provide you with a password protected link to their website with all the infos and forms to be filled out by your patients or for yourself. These forms are very important because they make you understand the frequency of each treatment, hair phase, etc… and their customer support… incredible. They call back within 15 minutes during week days and 99% of the time you get someone over the phone. Want to hear the truth about the machine to chose, are you a good candidate, etc… call them
That is my experience. Hope it helped you understand. Kim

This is just another version of the crap sold by Global Electrolysis Supply.

Kim P, you just wasted several thousand dollars.

I hope other readers avoid the same fate.

Andrea,

I’m sorry to tell you that after 4 sessions with the DMD9000lp, i already lost about 20 to 25% of my hair. You probably had a bad experience with the other company but so far I’m very happy with my purchase.
And i will never stop saying that Medicam.ca has the best customer support and service i have ever seen.
Kim_p

Let me know a year after you are “done” what you think of the thing. I am sure you will not be as happy.

I should point out that kim_p’s email address is admin@medicam.ca, which explains why she is so excited about this product. It’s sold by her employer.

Andrea, you’re as beautiful as you are truthful, don’t ever change.

Dear Sir,

My name is Pedro Pereira and I’ve heard of many business scams stories over the internet nowadays, but I didn’t think I could ever become one of these scams’victims.
In resume I’ve bought a laser machine and some accessories to Centre Biotechnique Avance (CBA) and then decided for a refund. At this moment, I don’t have the equipment neither my money.
Below I’ll describe all the facts in a timely manner:

  • November 11th, 2004 – I’ve made the purchase (order number 837129.81), by Wire Transfer, of a DMD 7500lp.cw Professional Laser Hair Removal System (4999.95 USD), a DMD 2000 Epilator Stand (199.95 USD), 2 units of Laser Hair Removal Carbon Dye (59.90 USD) and 1 Year Warranty Extension (29.95 USD). I’ve paid 5249.50 USD including Sales Tax, Shipping and Discount;
  • December 3rd, 2004 – Received an email from FedEx with my tracking number (shipment 791994876421);
  • December 9th, 2004 – Received the equipment in Porto, Portugal;
  • December 10th, 2004 – I sent an email to CBA with several questions concerning the machine’s functioning and also telling them that I didn’t see enough power in the machine so that it could perform epilation;
  • December 16th, 2004 – I never got an answer to my questions, so I decided to send a fax just like the email;
  • December 17th, 2004 – Finally my CBA contact (named Cynthia) answered me and explained that they already had answered to my questions, but probably I didn’t get the email maybe because of an error of my email provider;
  • December 27th, 2004 – I sent CBA an email and a fax asking for a refund; my laser machine didn’t work at all;
  • January 6th, 2005 – Still no answer to my reclaim, so I sent another fax asking for a refund;
  • January 7th, 2005 – I received a call from Cynthia. She told me that they were experimenting a new laser machine DMD 9000, this one much more powerful, and that if I wanted to, they would exchange my DMD 7500 for this new one;
  • January 7th, 2005 – After asking Cynthia if I had another 90 days to ask for a refund if I didn’t like this machine too, and she confirmed it, I accepted their offer and sent my machine back to them (to: Department A213, 7200 Montgomery Blvd NE B9 B10 # 167, Albuquerque, NM 87109);
  • February 2nd, 2005 – They sent me an email with a projected ship date of my new machine laser DMD 9000 (CBA’s order number EX-1411);
  • February 21st, 2005 – I received the DMD 9000 and began testing it;
  • March 21st, 2005 – The machine didn’t work so I emailed and faxed CBA telling them I’ve decided to return the equipment back to them so that I would have my money back;
  • March 31st, 2005 – Cynthia sent an email offering a new machine this time, DMD 12000. I refused it and asked her again to send me an RMA number (Return Material Authorization).
  • April 23rd, 2005 – After sending several emails without getting any answer from CBA, they finally sent a RMA (2235WT-042205);
  • May 6th, 2005 – I packed the equipment exactly as they asked me to and sent the DMD 9000 back to CBA (same address as above except the R213 Department) hoping to receive my refund;
  • July 12th, 2005 – After many emails and faxes without any reply, I finally received a letter from CBA (Albuquerque, NM, 87110) saying that my equipment was damaged during the shipping, so I couldn’t have a total refund;
  • July 13th, 2005 – I replied with a fax and an email, threatening them with a legal prosecution if my refund wasn’t given to me; Since then, I’ve tried to contact them in several ways (email, fax, phone) but unfortunately without any luck.

During last July I filed complaints in several organizations (BBB, IFCC, Econsumer, FTC, FDA, etc) but too without any answer.
After some investigation, I’ve discovered some websites that have information about this company’s functioning (http://www.hairfacts.com, http://www.hairtell.com, http://www.consumerbeware.com)) . All of them refer CBA as an internet business scam. In this websites one can read many complaints from angry people, that were victims of this company just like me.

I know that a new company in Canada named Medicam Inc. (www.medicam.ca and www.medicamerica.com) has been selling the same equipment CBA used to. I’ve emailed the owner, and he told me that they were partners, but now they aren’t.
In resume, I don’t know if this company is situated in U.S.A., Canada or UK, what I do know is that many people have been robbed by this guys. I left the major part of my life savings in CBA or GES or …, and I hope that someone can catch the responsible and make him pay.
Please Help me. I’m counting on you to solve this problem.

Thanks.

I thought you said timely…

Always lovely to see scammers’ keisters handed back to them

Sorry to hear about your problems, ractimansi!

The main guy responsible is named Ron Mucha, if you feel like tracking someone down. He’s the guy in Albuquerque.

ractimansi,

Since you have the address etc, have you tried filing through small claims court? They will come there and serve them with papers and you can do it in your state (or are you abroad?). That way, they would have to pay to get there to appear as well. Plus, they don’t have a case since you have everything documented anyways.

Mine came from New Mexico too…so far so good. Machine works great and every time I call I get great support.

Of course its too early to tell for sure.

I’ll keep you posted.

Wow “Kim_p”. I didn’t even see your lips moving during that bit of ventriloquism. Of course, if the machine were so good, why would you need to call customer service?

If anyone is trusting enough to buy one of these after reading this far in this thread, I got some low mileage pre-owned luxury cars direct from Mardi-Gras Motors for sale. What’s that? You still have money and trust left for more? Well, you can buy stock in the new international bridge we are building here in Buffalo to replace the current Peace Bridge. Current tolls are $3 per car! It’s a great investment that will pay handsomely once the bridge is completed and the new money starts rolling in.

Paypal your money to ExecutiveImages@aol.com Today! You will still have your hair, but I promise not to spend what was your money on Yachts, Booze, or Country Club fees.

Well, I’ve had lots of questions about things like the angle of the device when applying the laser and how much dye to apply and how often between treatments, etc. That’s why I ordered the book. I think it will be helpful.

Despite what you may think, I’m a real person. www.crpoe.com will let you know a little about who I am. My wife is pictured there too.

Thing is, we just got the machine for Christmas so we have not had a LOT of usage but so far, it does all it says. Of course the reviews are bad, but I was in sports medicine for 25 years (high school, college and professionally) and I’ve seen modalities used incorrectly all the time. I’m wondering if this machine might not be one of those times. It shaves hair like mad and thusfar seems to be all they say.

I’ll withhold judgment until we get several weeks of usage out of it and see how the hair grows…or doesn’t grow. I will point out that my sales rep Cynthia answers her phone all the time and so does their customer support line.

I’ll keep posting as we learn things and make our assessment.

Cliff

James, I suggested Cliff read these reviews after seeing his post about his purchase of this device on another forum. He’s already bought the device, so I guess we’ll get another perspective from a real consumer on this.

Ok.
If this is true, then at least your friend Cliffy was one of the lucky ones who actually got delivery of the “device”.

Just received it actually…right before Christmas. We’ve only done one small part of my wife’s lower leg. Still to early to tell if any hiar grows or anything so I can’t say good or bad. I’m hoping good. After reading all I’ve read I must admit, I have a little stomach ache!

<img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

We waxed it, removed all the hair at the folicle level, and applied the carbon based dye per instructions and used the deep tissue method. As I’ve said, I’ll keep you guys posted. If they are a sham or if the equipment does not work, I’ll be sure and let you all know with blow-by-blow details.

Cliff

Ok, we lasered the left leg last weekend and waited one week to see if there was any noticeable difference. The way we did it was this:

We waxed the leg, applied carbon dye to the empty follicle shaft, and then applied the laser using the deep tissue method explained in the book. The right leg was left alone to we could use it to compare.

The left leg does show some hair growth, and I’d say it’s between 80 and 90% of the right leg. However, what hair did grow back is not nearly so long as the hair on the right leg. So it seems that IF there was any impact on the hair growth as a result of using the DMD, it’s minimal thus far.

I did receive the book on how to use the machine and I’m learning more about hair than I ever wanted and some of the pictures aren’t too pleasant, but the book indicates that it will take several treatments before we see any REAL results. The book also indicates that TOTAL hair removal forever is not likely.

So, we’re going to wax both legs again, repeat the process and see next week how things look. Oh, I should also report that there is no burning or anything on the leg. I’m using the laser on it’s lowest setting and trying no to be too aggressive.

Perhaps with a little convincing, I can get some before and after pics on my web site.

That’s my update. More next week…

Cliff

Pedro,
I’m really sorry for you but we are not affiliated to CBA, Global electr…supplies or any of their companies or names.
You bought a unit from them and you held us responsible for the bad support you are getting from them.
We cancelled our distributor agreement with them long time ago and we posted on this site all the truth about these scam units. All Quazar dmd should be avoided by customers. We upgraded almost 90% of our previous customers by new Medical Devices. Please check what we posted through Andrea on this website at: http://www.hairfacts.com/brands/websites/medicam.html
I know that you went through a real nightmare and I really do feel sorry for you. Please do not associate our name to them because we have nothing in common. I know you lost money and we lost a fortune.
We were victims as much as you were and may be even more.
Thank you
Phil
Medicam.ca

Cliff,

The only way for you to see a little result is to go at maximum intensty (less 1 mm) and 3/4 of the speed. We unfortunately sold these units in the passed and the results were not really good. These units are pin point lasers so if you spend time on a hair, you will get some results. They’re very low power units and the diode modules inside the handpiece are unprotected so avoid using them for a long time. That is also exactly why the handpiece overheats. About their carbon dye, don’t buy it from them because this product is exactly the same dye you can find in any drugstore for a lot cheaper. Don’t think that they are selling a special dye. For the price of their 50ml, you can get a big bottle anywhere. In fact you are using it the right way because without waxing and the dye, you will not see any results.
Good luck
Phil
