Example of an electrolysis session

Copied and pasted Dario at Dectro’s submission of an electrolysis YouTube video. Dario deserves a sticky.

Dear Hairtell readers,

here is the link to a video explaining how a professionnal electrolysis treatment session should unfold. Please feel free to share with other electrologist and also clients that don’t know this permanent hair removal technique:

Sorry for the quality of the video. It was made before the HD technologies came on the market

Hi I recently saw laser induced stimulation of my facial hair…I need some advice of expert electrologist here. Please tell me how much time it will take for electrolyss to get rid of these hairs and whst should be my schedule.I need help.

If one got marathon sessions, one could clear out all that hair in a matter of days, and skip right to maintenance phase. At that point, you would be like any one else who came in for work. You could make this nothing but a memory in 9 to 18 months, with full clearances at least once every 6 weeks, but to always look finished, you would get clearances closer to once every 3 to 4 weeks. If you can clear it all in a concentrated time, then it would only take up one or two days once every month, if not, then one may need to go once a week for the first 3 months.

thank you very much james…so far I understood I have to get full clerance first…than have to go every 3weeks to get clearances…I have met a wonderful electrologist in my area who has 35 years of experience and all of them got away with hairs without even a single scar. She uses Flash thermolysis and is very quick…she said she would clear it in minimum of 3 hours. You are an expert…so thanks for your advice.I will keep in touch with you people regarding electrolysis sessions.

Hi james…today i got my first full clearance of neck and face in just 2 hours 50 minutes.I really love my electrologist. It went well…I will keep in touch as my treatment progresses.

Hi madhu,

Can I ask how long before this clearance you last did anything to your hair? I mean, plucking/waxing/threading/shaving?

How long since your last laser session?

How many weeks of growth was present?

1)I didnt do anthing to my hairs not even shaved.Except for a few white hairs for which i underwent electrolysis once.I didnt even shave.

2)almost 6 months i had before my last laser session but i bet laser did stimulated growth rather than removing it.

3)I am posting my electrolysis pics here.

2 hours after electrolysis:

ONE DAY POST ELECTROLYSIS:

note that these scabs normally appears on 2 day and usually falls in 5-6 days in my case.I am telling from my experience of the electrolysis of the white hairs of mine.So I think they are normal prt of my healing process…i only get them along my jaw line and neck area not on my cheeks or lips.

one more thing…
You can see sparse hairs on my lower side of neck…my elctrologist told me to come 3 days after for those…I really understand how tired she was after doing so long session as she was so quick.she removes atleast 35 hairs per minute. Its hardly 10 minutes work for her.

Hey Madhu,

In that case, it sounds great.

If you have not touched the hair since your last session 6 months ago, then a lot of the total hair was removed in the first session. You may find you can easily go two months before needing another.

You can go every three weeks to catch the small amount of hair that should appear - these will be short sessions.

If your electrologist is happy working on telogen hairs as well, then if you wait 3 months and see how much hair appears, this will be a good indication of how effective the first clearance was. What one doesn’t want is to see almost the initial number of hairs again!

You can still continue to experience induced growth from Laser even up to a year or more after your last session. Hopefully that won’t be the case but if you get any surges of growth later, it will be difficult to tell if it’s a result of the laser or the electrolysis.

THANKS STOPPIT$TIDYUP…ACTUALLY I AM GOING FOR THE HAIRS IN MY LOWER NECK…I THINK IT WILL BE GOOD TO GET SMALL AMOUNT OF HAIR REMOVED EVERY 3 WEEKS BECAUSE THAT WILL BE NECESSARY TO CATCH THE HAIRS IN ANAGEN PHASE AND EFFECTIVELY KILL THEM SO FAR I KNOW.MONEY IS NOT AN ISSUE FOR ME.I HOPE EVERYTHING GO WELL WITH MY SKIN.I THINK BETTER TO LEAVE SKIN AND HEAL OF ITS OWN RATHER THAN APPLYING CHEMCALS.YES I DO BELIEVE GOOD SUNSCREEN IS ESSENTIAL PART.WHAT DO YOU SAY stoppit$tidyup?
I AM JUST WAITING FOR DFAHEY AND JAMES COMMENTS TOO…

About my electrologist, she is such a jolly natured lady full of life.I feel so comfortable when i am with her.She can clear any hair which i want to get removed.

Hi madhu,

If that is how your electrologist wishes to do it, that’s perfectly fine. And once you have removed the hairs on your lower neck, maintenance work will keep you hair free most of the time.

If the electrologist has adapted his/her technique, the telogen can be treated effectively too. This is what me and my sister are doing.

I like to keep skincare natural. I use witch hazel water as a toner and rosehip oil as a moisturiser, which I believe also helps to fade the pigmentation you may get when the scabs fall off.

Do you mind sharing where you are located in case anyone is interested in your electrologist?

I just saw your and yours sister electrolysis diary…you have four times the hairs on your face and neck than me.Same is with your sister. It must be genetic…I thought i am only person in the world.I hope you hadve great results from your electrolysis hair removal.I was getting fine hairs even the finest hairs removed.I will keep in touch with you people about my electrolysis progress. You are an asset to this forum.

I am located in INDIA…

hi pics after 7 days of electrolysis:

Hi everybody,need some advice:
Please suggest if i need some work on my eyebrows or they are fine. These are my natural eyebrows…please suggest if anyone feel that they need to be worked out.

I think they have beautiful shape. Some models and actresses have wider eyebrows.

They look fine to me.

Your face looks great. I cannot really tell you had hair

thanks samafe…Yup its really a boost to myself.

I want to share my experience with galvanic method of electrolysis…people say it is the safe method…but its not true.Actually first time i went to an skin specialist…she used galvanic method for a few grey hairs…I get so much scabbing with that and hyperpigmentation due to lye rust or may be staining…it has faded but still there. So,any method in unexpeienced hands will cause side effects. But luckily,I found my current electrologist who is a gem.
