Also you can get Bio-oil at walmart. They sell a large bottle of it for around twenty dollars.
thank you a lot beepsix!!! it really means much to me - that you decided to share your experience!! i will try to get that bio oil!! i really hope that it will vanish! im young and really don’t want to have those pits for life…my friends keep telling me that it is “undetectable” but I see it and it bothers me a lot!!!
No problem ivmi. We live in a very technologically advanced age. Who knows what kinds of things they will come up with in the next few years. I don’t think you will live with these pits forever, just maybe a few more years at most and that is the worst case scenario. Anyhow be sure to try to find a moisturizer with vitamin C as it helps to rebuild and normalize collagen levels in your skin and helps with the pigmentation of scars. Since it’s right below your eyebrow I would look into a sheer shiny/sparkly eyeshadow base. You don’t want something thick because that might make them more obvious but MAC has these eye shadow bases that just might do the trick. Anyhow I hope this helps so just hang in there!
Hi Guys,
Today I got my my third treatment from another electrologist.Actually she is very far from me so she did consultation first and then started treating me.Because this is not possible for me to go every week there.I don’t know what will be reaction anyway,We will see in some days.
Now I have some swelling and redness. She used blend method on me.The previous lady treated me with thermolysis. But today this was very slow that it required her one hour to remove all hairs but with the previous lady it took about 20 minutes for all hairs.
Today was really very very slow and also very very expensive.I don’t know if this is really a worth to do blend than thermolysis. My new electrologist told me today that for your skin type blend is better because you have very sensitive and dark skin. And there is danger of hperpigmentation for your skin so I will be very carefull in your case.
I need your suggestions guys,I am very upset.Because with the previous lady on two points of my face I got pitting not on other places but only in small places.
And other thing after the treatment she used another machine with little round metal at the end.She used it on the treated area.I had the handle in my hand like I keep it for the blend. She told me this is used to reduce swelling and redness. This was giving a cold felling.Any idea about this if this machine really helps in reducing reaction.
And if you can please guide me about my whole situation, I will be very thankful.
And last but not least question if Blend is better and gentle than thermolysis?
Thank you very much guys.
Jimmy
I don’t agree about blend being better for your skin than thermolysis. Of course, if that is what she was taught and doesn’t know any better, then that is what she will believe and ty to get you to believe.
Blend is a great modality, but is slow and the sensation is more prolonged. That is why James and I harp and flip over MicroFlash and PicoFlash thermolysis. It clears an area faster with less sensation and skin reaction.
Thermolysis, performed correctly, is fine for your skin. If no one can do it well, then you will have to decide to settle for someone that does whatever modality she does well. Sorry, Jimmy.
I have heard the same thing from a few electrologists. Blend tends to be a bit safer on people with darker skin and causes less hyper-pigmentation. How much safer? Who knows. It also has a higher kill rate due to the lye that is created. My electrologist has told me that she switched a few years ago after she noticed that it was cutting the treatments in half for her clients, as in it took half as many treatments to permanently remove all the hair. I know from my personal experience that when I had thermolysis treatments it hurt and was almost unbearable even with numbing cream. Sure more hair was treated in a shorter time, but it left me with not only hyper-pigmentation but also hypo-pigmentation, which I thought was a little weird. But after I switched electrologists I have not had this problem and irritation and redness goes down within a couple of hours. The treatments on my face have been very successful and now I only have peach fuzz.
Jimmy, the little metal ball is used to cataphorese the area that was treated in order to balance out the current (I think). It is suppose to reduce swelling and irritation. I feel that my blend treatments were much more comfortable and I have not had to deal with any marks on my skin. Just make sure that the ground (the thing you are holding in your hand) is moist, otherwise the treatments will not be as effective. I would stick with this lady for a few more treatments to see if you are making progress and until you find someone a little closer and a little more affordable.
Poor or sub-par thermolysis treatmments will hurt more and can cause pigmentation side effects. Skill, equipment and thermolysis modality used are the keys to thermolysis success and decreased sensation. Oh, and of course, proper probe choice for the job at hand matters a lot!
Dear Dee and Beepsix,
Thank you very much for your response.
She used different needle on my face and different one on my ears. She said that I am using very fine needle on your ears.Today I got acne on my face,4 to 5 grains and some raised bumps.I don’t know what is this because this I dont got with my previous electrologist.
And Dee and Beepsix abuou this machine that she used for cooling and decreasing swelling and redness,Is this any side effect of using this machine on face.
Thank you very much for your suggestions and response.
Jimmy
Hi Beepsix,
As you told me that you got hyperpigmentation and hpopigmentation due to electrolysis. If this problem is cleared now and how long this took to be clear. Is this was on face or some other part of body.Because I got also hyperpigmented spot on my ear.And some on my face also.
Thanks for your reply.
Regards,
Jimmy
Can you please tell me the name of the epilator she uses? Is she doing slow thermolysis (over a second per hair)? If you could put that kind of information in your signature, that would save me and other electrologists some time in responding.
Cataphoresing is a feature that is already an option on most epilators. Is she using a separate machine to cataphorese? What is the name of this machine. That will save us from playing a guessing game, Jimmy.
Thanks!
Dee
Hi Dee,
Thanks for your reply.I don’t know what is the name of the machine exactly. But as I remember I read the spectrum on the machine. And she told me that she is using chemical kind of electrolysis process so that is blend(I think) and some seconds on each hair. And the energy was increased while treating hair.
Next time I will ask her the name of the machine that she is using there. And I think Cataphoresing was available on the same machine. The problem is that I will have appointment with her in a month.
But if there is any problem regarding using Cataphoresing. And if you can guide me about acne also.
Thank you very much.
Regards,
Jimmy
The hyper-pigmentation was on my face and forehead. The pigment marks have faded from my face but I still have some marks on my forehead. The first electrologist I went to used very high settings there so it ended up burning me pretty badly. The hypo-pigmentation faded thankfully within the first month. I am using this bleaching cream called Obagi Nu-Derm Clear #3. It has hydroquinone 4% and it’s the only thing that has helped in fading the dark spots on my forehead. I use this cream with a high SPF. As for the cataphoresis, I’m pretty sure there aren’t any side effects. I did get a little acne in the first few treatments but that fades when the hair gets finer. I no longer break out. Anyhow, hope this helps.
Cataphoresing is nice. It affects the tissue in four ways:
- hardens and firms the tissue.
- Soothes.
- Reduces redness (closes the capillaries)
- It is germicidal ( acid kills germs)
When we do blend or galvanic, we make lye. Lye is a base, so to bring the skin back to a more natural acidic level, cataphoresing helps swing that dial from an alkaline state > to neutral > to acidic.
On the last point, I’m thinking that the cataphoresing didn’t give you the acne appearance, something else did. Good aftercare and what happens after you leave the office can make all the difference in your skin appearance. No touching the area with your hands. If she is over treating you, then you will have acne-like reaction. I don’t know what is going on. Tell her about your concerns. Take a picture. That will help her understand and hopefully correct anything she may be doing wrong. Maybe you have a certain bacteria on your skin that contributes to this reaction??? There are so many possibilities.
Dear Dee and Beepsix,
Thanks for your reply.Sadly my witch hazel water is finished.I have ordered it and will get it tomorrow. But on the second day I washed my face with a mild face wash.If this is a problem by washing face. Then applied aloevera afterward. She give me one cream to apply on acne if I get after treatment.I have applied this cream and finished acne dramatically. And using tea tree oil at night.I have not any other thing to kill germs.I assume tea tree oil is good to kill the germs. What you think?
Thanks.
Jimmy
What ingredients are in the cream? Tea tree oil has antiseptic properties. If Victoria Secret models use it then so can you.
Hi Dee,
Thanks for your reply.I don’t now exactly what are the ingredients in this cream. She only gave me a sample in some thing. But I will call her and will ask about the name of the cream.
Thanks.
Hi Dee,
Today I got my witch hazel. This contains 15% alcohol in it.I don’t know if I can apply it or not on my face.I need to mix some thing in it e.g: water before applying. Because this is difficult to get only pure witch hazel here in Germany from media stores in liquid form.
Thanks.
Jimmy
Thanks for the picture. It’s a little too dark, but I can see the depressions.
What comments do you get from your family or anyone close to you?
they said that it is getting better but it is still visible mostly when there is one light source (from above or side…). But I would not be satisfied even if they said that it is undetectable couse I can see it and that it most important! every morning I wake up and take a mirror - i know it’s silly but I can’t help myself. I would never ever have electrolysis treatment even if the best expert is willing to do it - I dont believe anyone and there is so little to screw up.
I’m losing hope…becouse the limit for healing is getting closer and I can’t see big improvement…and I want my skin back as it was prior treatment. I’m wondering, dee, is it really possible that pitting like mine heal totally? smooth…beautiful skin…after a year or more with those pits… i mean I dont have them one year…but 8 months is close enough…don’t you think?
P.S. i shoot in this lightening cause you cant see them in daylight there must be some shadow
what do you think from the picture?
