Electrologist in EU using very good magnification?

hi toeman, i’m in north holland and have been treated on the face with blend for 9 months now with great results.

i am very happy with the girl who treats me (best technique out of the 7 techs i have seen), i’m almost clear, but now we are down to hairs that were once thick (REALLY thick) but now super-fine but longer than fuzz. also i have some on my nose that i really want gone.

she is apprehensive to treat these hairs, giving the same reason that the others gave: basically “fine hair is shallow in the skin, and treating these can cause irritation, burns, adverse reactions and scars etc etc to the surrounding surface, it’s too risky, you better bleach it instead”.

we tried my upper lip, i had some scabbing but after 2 weeks it’s fine.

they don’t strike me as having really great magnification and lighting tho, which i imagine doesn’t help.

on my next visit i’m going to ask her to treat these dark, fine hairs with a lower setting, as i didn’t notice her turn it down when she went to work on them, and treatment resulted in the white follicles for an hour or so, as she said it would. i would assume that would work providing she’s game, as it would take less energy to kill a weak little hair than a big fat one, resulting in less scarring/adverse reactions.

if you do find someone in the netherlands that would treat those +/-‘peachfuzz’ hairs, lemme know- i’ll do the same.

i only wanna get rid of the dark ones, forchrissakes!

I think it is incredible that an electrologist is apprehensive to to treat any structure of hair. Many electrologists treat the smaller hairs you describe on the nose or ANYWHERE. Yes, one needs to use the correct level (turn it down for smaller hairs for sure),but it can be done successfully. Please encourage her to start low and bring it up gradually until the hair releases. As long as the skin doesn’t blanch, then all should be well.

So glad to hear that things are going well, otherwise. Tell to be not afraid to get those hairs on your nose. As long as she can SEE the hair, she can treat the hair. If she can’t see them, then she may offer other excuses for not treating them to spare herself embarrassment.

Very unfortunate that they don’t feel confident about this. Being able to treat the finer hairs helps keep coarse growth from happening, as the coarse hairs didn’t pop in magically - they came from former vellus follicles…

Another thing for treating these finer hairs is that they are shallower and don’t require such a deep insertion. Good magnification, reduced epilator settings and shallower insertions should enable your electrologist to complete your treatments.

Josefa, I’ve just read that you are working on body hairs without magnification!
Wow! Doing such spectacular jobs on the bodies working only with you bare eyes!
Amazing!
