Diary of a European guy.

Oh yes, Miro, the last session we did was in the back. I have a “my boy” abandoned. I had to cancel his last appointment. I hope to do some work on him next week. I’ll update the thread with the actual appearance of his chest, stomach, abdomen and shoulders.

Wow wow wow!

This really makes my happy! I had lost all hope before I read this thread.

Im a 21 year old male from Norway (turning 22 this summer).
I have spent about 10.000$ on laser and ipl-treatments, plus on waxing, sugaring etc…
The only thing I havent tried is electrolysis!
I thought it was way to time consuming to perform on the upper body!

I am not initially as hairy as the guy you have treated, but I have black, dense hairs on my upper back, neck, shoulders, chest, stomach and some on my lower back.

It would be a dream come true to get rid of this HUGE, HUUGE problem. I feel like a beast.

I will look up electolysis in Norway. I really hope to find someone as good as you!
How can I tell which one to decide?

I also have a tan. Does this make the treatments less effective?
Are the treatments very painfull?

This made my day. Thanks so much

hey boy,

Ive done the same, wasted my money on hair laser removal £18,000 the past few years, which actually stimulated more hair growth. I wouldnt really recommend laser hair removal to anyone.

ive had a few electrolysis treatments and i dont find it as painful as laser but everyone’s pain threshold is different. It also depends how good the electrolysist is as you feel less pain if its done correctly.

How are your results so far?

I wish I lived in Spain so I could visit depilacionelectr!
But does anyone have a electologist to recommend from Norway?

Not at all. The Electrolysis is equally effective regardless of skin color, hair color, age or sex of the client, the size of the area or size of the hair. Electrolysis is infallible if the needle reaches the target area, and the energy is sufficient.

This depends on the area. There are sensitive areas that require the use of topical or local anesthetic. Most people find it painful to live with excess hair.

Thats great!

I see. Do you usually use anesthetic on the male upper body?
I have sendt you a pm Josefa

Yes, many cases are treated with local anesthesia (when my doctor is available), other cases under topical anesthesia, and often nothing at all.

Hi Miro, here’s “my boy” again. With great difficulty I could make him a hole in my schedule today. The session was only 45 minutes (the time I had booked to eat), but it was worth.

On the left side more regrowth, because there was a clearance less than in right side.

From closer:

I have to say wow  The chest and allso the stomach look just great, and the skin condition is superb!

How much time did you need this time? The last treatment was approx. 25 may if I remember correctly.

I have a silly (like allways) question for you. After how many weeks after your treatment comes the real regrowth? Does it come little by little, or all the hair begin to grow at once?

I have a patch on back of my neck and trapezius muscles that was treated 9,5 weeks ago, until now there wasnt much regrowth -just some hair here and there. Can I say now that the hair treated 9,5weeks ago was sucesfully killed or I need to wait more to know the real result?

Thank you once again Josefa. Wish you a nice day

You can consider a vacation to Spain once every month or two to get clearances from Josefa. It’s not too far from Norway

Laser works well. But it only works on coarse dense growth. Unfortunately, there are clinics out there who’ll take your money to treat any type of hair.

This last session was 45 minutes, unfortunately, I did not have more time. Here, I put some photos of the area that could be treated.

In general, the false regrowth appears more rapidly than true regrowth. Skin experts say you should wait 18 months to be sure that the hair has been permanently removed, but the experienced electrologists know, before 3 months, which of the treated follicles will not produce hair again.

Amazing results! Really make me happy to read such a success story.

Can I ask what the difference is between false and true regrowth?
(Im sure it has been adressed before, but I cant find it on the forum)

True regrowth means hair coming back which have been treated. False regrowth - AFAIK - simply describes that due to the cyclic “life”-span of a hair every day new hairs appear and thus fill the gaps made by electrolysis (as long as there are enough hairs remaining).

Ah. I see.

Electrolysis seems like a really interesting field. I think I will buy some books on the field.
Maybe I should become an electrologist myself. Hehe

Beate explained very well. I can only add that these terms were coined by the master Michael Bono, are very useful because with only two words he sums up a long explanation difficult to understand even for some professionals.

Maybe here you can understand better.

In red true regrowth.
In blue, false regrowth.
In white, sebaceous papules.
In black, tombstones.

And here a few months later

Hi Josefa,

Hope you’re well. I wanted to say thank you for posting the above. Not just for the regrowth explanation but the scabbing and papules! People often ask what treatment can look like and it’s difficult to show them pictures of good treatment but with a reaction that may be very normal. Here you show what it looks like but also how wonderfully it heals.

Thank you!

Thank you Josefa. I clearly see the difference.
The true regrowth seems much shorter. Is that the main characteristic that make the electrologist see what hairs are true- and false regrowth?

No dear, there are other differences in the appearance of a hair that survives the Electrolysis. Look the picture of my avatar is one of those survivors. This is a hair “corkscrew” (a term that gave them the great Arthur Hinkel, inventor of the Blend).

Most often, hairs survivors have an anarchist along the hair shaft. The pigment and the size is irregular in some segments. The hair cycle is also altered, they have a shorter growth phase and a shorter resting phase too. The adhesion of the root to the anchorage area has become weaker and a simple scratch with your fingernail can cause the hair to break off easily.
