AEA

I didn’t post that article because of the AEA 's decision to excluded non-due paying electrologists. It wasn’t about whether one is a CPE or not either.

My point was that if one is an electrologiat and there is a CLOSED social network just for them, well, this occurs in other professions as well and it applies to all kinds of closed groups. The physicians have their group regardless of whether they are gastroenterologists, dermatologists or family practitioners. The article didn’t say if they were being charged a fee to have this cyber doctors lounge to network on to advance their profession in ways that books cannot.

No, in fact I’ve said repeatedly I DO see your point. That said…

If electrolysis ( and laser) are medical proceedures, then please tell me where you received your doctorate in medicine from. I can tell you that here, it is most definitely NOT considerd a medical proceedure in any way shape or form.

Electrolysis is a COSMETIC proceedure that has been shown time and time again to be not invasive enough or to have enough physical impact to be considered a field of medicine. Comparing electrolysis, and colon cancer is akin to comparing apples and cherries, because they both grow on trees. One has life threatening consequences, the other simply DOES NOT.

And what Benton said, is absolutely correct. It IS up to people ( clients…not “patients” ) to make up their own mind on whether something they read on the internet has any value or truth to it.
I personally am of the opinion, that more and better information empowers everyone, those learning, and those who are trying to understand why their hair loss isnt working. You wont ever convince me that " shutting up so the client doesnt ask for something I’m not prepared to deliver" is the way to go. The best I try and do is make sure that what I say is complete and accurate. You, ( and every other electrolysist) are free to discuss in private forums what you like, but if this is to be an open forum, then ALL have to feel comfortable sharing without fear that they will be belittled or criticised. But frankly this doesnt happen.

Edit: I’ve said my piece. And I’m done with it. For me at least, this is end of subject. I havent done any face work in days due to some dental issues, and I’m off to do that instead.Oh and I was just “sir” 'ed at the gas station becaus of what I have grown out, which has me grumpy too. Arguing over whether someones opinion should be considered valid, frankly stinks and to me is counterproductive to the boards purpose.

And Dee, I have between now and about a month from now to decide if I’m going to take my electrolysis course. I have to be honest, having spoken to one graduate, that I dont know how much I’ll learn from it. But it will give me the piece of paper you seem to value. I also, frankly, cant afford it. But then as it would give me enough to “practise professionally” I might have to look at the feasibility of raising the needed $3100 inside of 2 months before it starts. I’ve even looked at crowdsourcing, and havent raised dime 1. It’s pretty doubtful I can make it happen. But we’ll see.
