YAG more effective than GentleLASE on upper lip?

I’ve had 10 sessions to remove facial hair with GentleLASE. All spaced 6 weeks apart. Type II skin, 18mm spot area at 14J. The tech was hesitant to go any higher as I usually look like a tomato when done. But the upper lip is so stubborn that I’ve been having electrolysis, which is reducing the hair slowly. The rest of the face is smooth and hairless, except for a few thicker hairs in the ‘soul patch’ area of the chin.

A nearby clinic recently got a GentleYAG machine. My question is, with type II skin, will a few sessions with a GentleYAG do any more to the upper lip area than GentleLASE at 18mm/14J has already done? I think I’ve read about the laser going ‘deeper’, but I’ve also seen that GentleYAG is better for darker skin.

Any advice would be really really appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I wouldn’t think a Yag laser would do any better b/c like you said, it’s more useful on darker skin. Ask your technician about decreasing the spot size and increasing the joules.
