Worried over new reaction to a electrolysis

Hello everyone

I’ve been a long time lurker on this forum but today something occurred which I felt the need to consult with all you lovely people.

I’ve been having electrolysis done on my chin since October of last year. So far so good, I’ve not had any overly worrying reactions and my skin has been healing fine.

Well… I made the decision to give my poor chin a break and told my electrologist to start working on my knuckles instead.

First off it hurt like a m*******! I felt barely anything on my chin but this was something else!
But this is not why I am here.

I had a reaction almost immediately after which I have never seen before on myself and I am a little concerned.

To my uneducated eye, they almost look like burn blisters? I didn’t have this kind of reaction on my chin.

My electrologist used a size 2 needle she said in gold (I previously had bad reaction on my chin to the default needle which I have no idea what alloy it was).

Any additional info I can think of might help:
I am of Mediterranean decent
I was diagnosed with hirsutism when I was 13

Thank you in advance!
M

Here is another photo - I don’t know if it’s any better than the other

Nothing to worry about. You are going to see a few more “interesting” manifestation in the coming days … but I don’t want to spoil the plot. (Not blisters … just some treated skin … on shallow follicles,)

Oooh shallow follicles! Is that why it looks different?

Panic averted then, phew.

Thank you Bono!

sure; my pleasure … In most cases (fingers and toes) the upper skin gets a bit treated too. You can expect some lovely scabs, followed by (drum roll) red dots and then hyperpigmentation. All of this is normal and will go away 100%. I hate doing fingers for all these reasons … and “hurting like hell” is one of them. I’d much rather work on a “petutti,” whatever that is?

it is Normal Maggie , i had the Same (last treatment 30 June 2022)

I have still this , what you got after 1 Month.

But dont worry so much , even if it need Months to heal, it go Away.

But even noticed in my Case , Fingers are a Area who need not so much treats .

I mean of course you need some apointments , maybe for 1 Year.
But i had hairs by 8 of 10 fingers, thumb not.

And even after 3 Treatments like by 3 of 8 fingers no or very less hair come back even after 1 month .

I mean on some fingers i have zero Hairs , nothing growned back

And by some 1-12 hairs on each finger.

But the reason…why there grown hairs is this stupid DHT hormone … sigh.

Its a side product of Testesteron…

I had like above 30 Years there 0 hairs on my fingers/hands
Before <1 year they started to grow even on my hands.

Even this dht is the reason why hairs there where they are (Biology)
But also a reason by Male peoples… why you get later Maybe Ear Hairs…extremly nose Hairs , i dont talk about usual nose hairs … i mean extremly like they grow out of the nose. And why by a lot of male peoples … Head hairs fall out.

I try within my psychologist place is free … get finasterid to block dht… got some hairloose on head too on my hairline. And have hairtransplation in september.

I heared a lot of cases…

where you can reduce /rid of Hairs with Finasterid/Dutasterid (But you should talk …if you are in that case with hairloose with a Dermatologist).

Heared a lot of peoples loosed some chest/belly hairs… or amount of arms /legs hairs .
few /less cases they loosed some beard.
Even heared cases where they get rid off ear and nose hairs with this medicaments.

**But the negative aspect of the Medicaments, is you have to take them Daily, Peoples Say also Forever but honestly, i dont think its true.Because it exist no long time study , i mean like whole Life with /without it. Just 30-40 Years or so. I mean if you get with 18 Hairloose for example…and you would take this Medicaments, i know by AGE 40/50 , im not sure one of these. Your naturaly Testesteron level go down , by female people same with Oestroegen. And by Age 80 You have kinda testesteron level ike a child again. I think because teststeron level go down… DHT level should go down too, seems to be logic. I think you have to take this Medicaments with Age 18 within like age 80 LIke 62 Years…long …long…long…long time. But i think honestly on this point by 80+ its not more necessary.(but just a thought of me) **

But there is nothing sure.

But only 2 effects are there nearly safe
if it work

It keep safe your head hairs…make them strong
and it slow down body hairs growth.

Also Just saying…

In theory… fingers /Hand for example … could also be a Good area for Clean&Easy but… you have to change the Probes… buy some from Ballet/Sterex (smaller one).
You could DIY this hairs, if you want that.

Because they are not this big amount of hairs .

Even if you need 1 minute for eeach finger hair… you could remove them in < 1 1/2 -2 hours.

And Proparly … anyone Say you cant treat both hands , because you are used to the Left or Right hand.

Thats nonsense kinda.

I mean, if you are used to the right hand , you can wrtie with them and do all the stuff. But if you have the other hand some trained , even if you cant write with it , the same like other hand. LIke hold your hand quiet and all its good enough.

Im used to the right hand too since ever. Even if i cant write good with left hand.
I trained about XX Years my Left hand , like write with keyboard with it only, while i use my mouse with right hand. Or sometimes use my Mouse with left hand. Drink something with left hand and so far.

But thats up to you.

She used the correct size probe and gold is good. You may have some scabbing, but not a concern for this area. I like coconut oil or aquaphor massaged into this area for aftercare.

Thank you, it helps to know that it’s normal and that she’s doing a good job!

Here is my thumb 24 hours later for anyone curious:

right on schedule … normal. Take a photo when you get the “red dots.” Then, on to the next phase …

We often forget how different our skin is in various areas of the body; and reacts differently to electrolysis. Pinch the back of your neck, and then pinch the front of your neck. Notice the great difference in skin thickness?

The back of your hand … and the palms of your hands; almost like different “animals?” Plastic surgeons go into great detail on this subject; and approach each area of potential surgery using specific techniques. Never expect that, say, your fingers will react like your chin. And, of course, the entire face itself has very localized regions that require different treatment approaches. “One size” does not fit all!

Yes it is what I’m learning!

I just wanted to leave an update photo for others that came across this and have had similar concerns

There’s been times I’ve spotted threads with no updates where I would have loved to see how it got better!

I have poor self esteem so any little thing can set off my anxiety :grimacing:

Thanks for the photo. Don’t worry. You will heal fine.

With the Apointments , i would also look in your case.

I mean you Had first One.

Of course you need more one.

But usual After Arround 5 Apointments your Hairs , become more Less. ( i mean visible).

After that i would do the Apointmens how you need it… i mean if you have just 1-2 Hairs after Month/s on the Fingers , its maybe not worth to go.

Here could it be helpful like use something like this DIY Clean & Easy with thin probes from Ballet/sterex.

But if you have more again you should go.

oh boy.M_K I think it’s great you are taking part and learning from the board but I think you should stop imparting so much advice on processes and equipment you dont understand.
Once again, The clean and easy/One touch is a relatively horrible implementation of an electrolysis machine. They do not take ballet or sterex probes. The probes they do use are not even sterile and are spring loaded and difficult to use and not all that even changeable. The clean and easy is a piece of JUNK that most people get frustrated with and throw in the back of a bathroom drawer. It’s a $30 piece of plastic operated by a 9v battery and a potentiometer. It does not do thermolysis, and is not a good option. It’s one saving grace is that it can, successfully treat a “FEW hairs” with galvanic and some people have had some success in heavily modifying it to the point of not even resembling the original product. Am I clearer now?
Edit: Michael, back in the day did I drive ya all this crazy?

Yes you are.

But im no Boy /men , you should understand it best.

oh boy is an expression of exasperation in the english language, not a specification of gender.

The One touch devices are to electrolysis units as Yugo is to the automotive world.

Here is the 72 hours later update

I accidentally scratched it a little as I forgot I had the area treated :joy:

Gorgeous … and right on schedule … thanks. Now, when the scabs fall off, don’t “freak out” when you see little red dots. ALL part of the deal. (Your scratching didn’t do anything … no problem).

The dots , the red one heal usual (after 1-2 Weeks).
But me for example , was treated with thermolysis .

31 Days later , i have no red dots more, but

Still dots like little brand marks/dots.

But it will heal Anway.
Need Some months-1Year and it go away.

I dont care about it., really.

I dont look mostly on my fingers/hand.

The shitty finger/hand hairs disturb me 10000000000000000000000% more than any dots or so on my finger/hands.

You can use : Anti Septic cream , Zink Cream , also Aloe Vera cream to support the healing process .

If the red dots gone… and skin is healed

you could also use Skin cream (after some weeks). Also maybe not bad.

Also How one electrolysis sayed Cocos Oil , maybe also not bad.

I know even for Brand marks… scars the same , exist something too. Like lotion /creme. You put it daily on the skin… and it make after weeks…months your brand mark/scar more light. That its less visible.

Here you can get this things easy in each Drogery.
