why no complete electrical circuit?

I used a different salon today & the guy that gave me electrolysis only used a needle holder. I wasnt asked to hold another electrode as I usually do. I asked him & he said it was a different method & it wasnt required!
The procedure FELT the same as usual - no tweezing, no faster or slower than usual, so how can this work?
I always thought electricity needed a complete circuit to flow?

Thermolysis doesn’t need to have a completed circuit, as it works via radio waves. It can be done faster if the machine has an auto-sensor and the practitioner can synchronize insertions with the auto-sensor’s delay function. These auto-sensors require a completed circuit to work, and so, if one is doing thermolysis and is asked to hold a ground, or be in contact with something that feedback into the machine, that is the reason why.

Your practitioner must be using thermolysis with a footpedal.

yeh she does use a footpedal.
Thanx for the explanation.
