Why is the first clearance important?

I’ve read this many times here in these forums that the first clearance should be done quick as possible. Why is the first clearance emphasized so much? I also came to know that after the first clearance, there is a maintenance period. I understand the maintenance period, which are appointments spread apart couple weeks or so after the clearance. But, still, why is the first clearance so important? Also, suppose if I want to have my face done with electrolysis, and I wanted to take it step by step, like an area after the other, ex; chin first, then upper lip, then sideburns, etc,…how will the first clearance go about then? I’m kinda confused with this first clearance thing.

Because 80% of road will be done to achieve your goal (if the strategy is to wait, clear and maintain).
Because from the first clearance, your appearance, will never be the same.
Because your skin (if white) will never have a grayish color, and (if dark), will present a uniform color.
Because your skin will be smooth as when you were a baby.
Because the first clearance will give you many reasons for reaching the goal.
In short, nothing will ever be the same since the first clearance.

First clearance is important because that’s how you know that you’re always treating new hair, and not treating hair that’s in the wrong phase of growth and harder to kill.

Ok, so if I want to get my face done with electrolysis, it’s better to have my face done at one sitting by getting the whole thing cleared at once?

That would be ideal if you can find an electrologist that will work longer than an hour at a time to get that precious first, full clearance. If that is not possible, then go for longer appointments closer together in the beginning until you are clear. If you are wanting all the blond peach fuzz removed, that would be impossible to get a first, full clearance on and that shouldn’t be your goal with this type of hair situation. Thinning peach fuzz until you achieve the look you like is the most logical way to go.

Yes. It doesn’t necessarily have to be at one sitting. It just needs to be within 2-3 weeks, so that you’re only coming in afterwards for touchups that clear the area again completely each time.

ok, so after the clearance, which is the the maintenance period, or touch ups, then how often do I need to go back for touch ups? Does that depend on how many hairs I have?

No, this depends on the caliber of the hairs. A thick hair will take less time to leave than a medium hair, and a medium hair less than a thin hair.

How will a thicker hair take less time to leave? Aren’t fine hair or thinner hair easier to treat?

Audrey forgive me, I have explained badly.

I refer to the speed with which there appears the hairs, when cycle has not been altered by a system of permanent elimination. The normal cycle growth of the hair.

In a zone that has been depilated by wax, tweezers or thread, the thick hair will grow before that the thin hair.

As the first hairs (the thickest) is treated with electrolysis they will disappear, but others of minor calibrate they will appear in the zone. This way until all the hair (thick, medium and thin) could be treated. Then you will be free of hair.

ok thanks for the clarification Josefa.
