Why does IPL get a bad rep? I've had great results

I’ve had IPL on face, chest and abdomin. The hair on my chest and abdomin is completely gone and has been for a few years. It used to be thick and dark…so much that I could see it growing underneith my skin. I still have a few hairs on my face but they are fine and light and I blame hormones for hair still left on the face.

WHY does IPL get such a bad rep for hair removal? I’ve gotten 4 diode treatments on the legs and it removed some of the hair but there is still a lot of the hair left. I went for my 5th session and they used an IPL on me that time and they said if I see better results I could use the IPL for the remainder of my sessions.

What do you think? Can I expect IPL to work great on my legs if it worked so well on my chest and abdomin?

I’m still trying to figure out how many sessions I’ll need to be pretty hairless. I had 2 sessions on the diode on the lowest settings…on my third session…they switched to a higher setting and on the 5th session they used an IPL…how many more sessions do you think I’ll need?

The best way to answer your questions is with a shrug and a maybe. You just have to get treatment and see where it goes after you completed the recommended amount of sessions. You won’t know what the true results will be long term until you have done nothing to the area for six months, but one year is even more telling.

It all depends on the equipment used on you.
From my knowledge diode in general is much better than IPL, however, many companies claim that IPL works better for some people while diode for other.

As dfahey said, there are many factors and only time will tell.
