It seems like after a treatment I get really bad ingrown hairs. At first I though I was just having my normal breakouts. After 5 treatments I have definitely noticed a pattern of breaking out a few days after treatments. Why does this happen? My treatment area is Brazilian.
Hi bmart! What kind of ingrown hairs do you have? Do they stay in your skin for months/forever or eventually go away naturally?
Can you describe your breakouts or submit a picture?
You may be experiencing normal, temporary side effects that naturally show up after treatment. You know, with the friction created by movement and clothes in this area, not to mention the higher energy levels that must be used to treat those big hairs, you are bound to have skin manifestations.
Merry xmas everyone. But just want to share this website that talks down on James Walker and other electrologist on hairtell.Dear electrologists, please check this out.http://www.bostonschoolofelectrolysis.com/articlelive/articles/6/1/Kimberly-Williams---Boston-School-Of-Electrolysis---HairTell-Hair-Removal-Forums-2/Page1.html
The behavior of this woman is worthy of a clinical study. She accuses James of manipulator and double his identity, however, she was caught a few weeks ago here in Hairtell, posting under the name of Fran Luffer. Her intention this time was bothering Michael Bono. I wonder who will be next?
As far as I know no one here tries to influence the mind, or the decision of consumers. On the contrary, everyone seems to be helping by providing information as each does best or can. If ever James Walker decides to act legally against this person, I would be happy to contribute to the costs of the lawsuit.
I was so shocked when i saw this
Are treated hairs ingrow instead of shedding? Or you’re seeing this on new growth? The new hairs may be finer and are having a hard time pushing through the skin. Try exfoliating the area and wearing looser clothing.
I guess I am assuming they are ingrown because they bump up like ingrown and get red and angry looking. The breakouts that occur a few days after treatment end up going away a few days later it seems. I have ingrown that sometimes heal quickly and others that last a long, long time and I have to treat them, although I have not really found an effective treatment. I’ve had best luck trying to dry up the skin and the hair ends up shedding with the dry skin.
It is frustrating because the main reason I opted for laser is because of horrible ingrown.
It sounds like my hunch may be right. Once the hair is killed, you won’t experience this. Also, what aftercare are you using?
Your hunch is that they are finer hairs that can’t push through? I have also thought it could be the shaving. I sure do hope that I will not have to deal with this, it’s awful. I have 6 or 7 or so bumped up areas right now. It seems that I cannot effectively treat them. I’ve been trying acne treatment gel. It seemed to help dry up at first, but won’t completely heal. Thanks for your help.
Yes, I think the finer hairs are having a harder time pushing through. Wearing looser clothing around this area could help as well as right clothing doesn’t help the situation.
This should go away completely once the hairs are gone permanently.
When I did laser 10 years ago, I also had these red bumps after the treatment, the doctor they were “like” ingrown hairs but not the same. He prescribed a med called Fucidin cream and it worked very well.
Thank you toras. I will look it up. I have a feeling mine are possibly folliculitis. I only got 1 after this last treatment, so I sure hope this will be the last of it. It takes forever to heal!!
Finally after my 6th and last treatment I am free of bumps!! No more huge infected red and sore spots!! For the first time in a LONG time my skin is clear!! Now I only have the missed and untreated areas which I am waiting to hear back from the laser center. It seems like they are ignoring me because they have not returned my call from over a week ago!
