I’ve noticed that different area’s respond better to electrolysis. Why is that? The hair on the back of my neck, in front of my neck, very top of my chest seem to go poof, while the hair on my shoulders, upper arms, back of arms just do not seem to want to go away. I have had ONE treatment, count them, one treatment and that was with the electrolysist that I wasn’t getting good results on in my other areas do the front of my neck below adams apple and almost NONE of it came back. Other areas, no change at all it seems like. Frustrating.
This is a great question and might help many of us in this process. I know that various areas have differing amounts of hair active at a given time. I have just started, so I am treating underarms first to watch the process. I understand that as little as 30% of the hair in this region will be active (anagen) and can be treated successfully. I am surprised as it has been about 12 hours and I still have a fair bit of hair remaining (its soo hard to offer a % reduction without letting it grow a bit). I am using microFlash with a certified, trained, recommended electrolygist.
There must be a LIST of how one should generally expect progress and a relative speed to completion for a given body area. I am ready to move to a new area and would like to know where I might be most likely to get my best results (as I sure would like to “see” results). This would also help me confirm an objective opinion about my treatments. Should I try face, neck front, neck back, shoulders, back, buttocks, or pubic next?
Chuck, are you accounting for the size of each area as well. I would expect shoulders and upper arms to have much more area to cover than the neck. Could this be a factor?
My shoulders are clearing up pretty good. Mind you I am just removing terminal hairs, still alot of vellus and a few inbetween left over but that will be removed later on. Kidney area for some reason is taking a little longer, might have been denser there than other areas. It is sometimes hard for me to tell whats going on back there without contorting my body.
Way back in the 1900’s when I got my first electrolysis treatment. The woman who would become my “Ben Kenobi” did a blend treatment on the corner of my chin, and forever from that day, I had a thumb sized bald patch on my chin. No other treatment that was done with her, or anyone else was as effective as that magical treatment. It was as if the laws of hair growth were momentarily suspended by the jedi force.
There are too many variables to really give the kind of answer you would like here, however, I would say that the easiest places to work are the cheeks, and the legs. If you want to see an instant difference with noticeable reduction on the next phase of hair growth, do cheeks and legs. Be sure to take a good, clear before picture. Digital cameras are best, so you can enlarge and isolate an area.
