Who is using MC160D-C from Gentronics?

I talked to Jennifer at Texas electrolysis. She said she has not received any e-mails from Cypress, so she gave me the the private e-mail of the owner for texas electrolysis supply for you to try and would be more than happy to help you with questions and such and ship you whatever you need. I will private message you with that address. She also said that they do ship their products everywhere, from Australia to India.

They only have one video in VHS form on patient positioning.

She was very nice and very helpful!

At Prestige: Also, very helpful. I talked to Susan and she said they ship everywhere, but she has not received any e-mails either. She would like to send you their recent catalog. Just go online and request a catalog and then you can peruse what they offer.

They have a better selection of video’s and dvd’s.

They include Thermolysis, Blend, Galvanic and complications and side effects in DVD, VHS or PAL for European customers. All are $39.95. The instructional insertion video, How to Make Perfect Insertions does not come in dvd form and is 11 min. long and costs $15.25. The patient positioning video is VHS format at $20.00.

I’ll PM you now witht that address.

Dee

Hi Dee,

thank you so much for your help. I send again emails, the email for the catalogue at Prestige went through, but I think, they cannot receive emails of what reason however.

Dee, I will send you my email address with PM, could you be so kind to forward it to both, Prestige and Texas electrolysis, maybe they can contact me, so I have their correct contact address/email?

I really appreciate you help - thank you very much again.

Greetings,
Sabine

Okay, sabine I’ll e-mail them tomorrow.

Dee

Okay, sabine I’ll e-mail them tomorrow.

Dee

I may have to call them actually, because there is something wrong when I try to use outlook express as I recall. Either way, I’ll try something.

Dee

Hi Dee,

I don´t know, what you did, but both answered finally <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

Great!! Thank you so much!!

Greetings, from Cyprus,

Sabine

Great! Glad to lend a hand.

Hi Dee,

again me with a (probably) stupid question.
I am wondering what exactly means the timer on the MC160D-C.
Does it mean how often the current flows or the how long the current flows? Let´s say I have put the time for electrolysis on 4,5 and the thermalysis on 4. Does it means that the current flows 4,5 times or does the current flows for 4,5 seconds?

So far I managed to work on my legs - but not with auto start, I usually need to stop with the pedal, and to continue then with the pedal as well. I realized, that I can use auto start with some hair quite well, but with some hair it is really painful (the current, not the insertion of the probe) - I cannot find something like a steady line for the hair. Therefore I feel at the moment much more safer if I use the pedals. Is this the “normal” procedure for a beginner or does anybody else uses auto start?

Afterwards some little “moskito bites” occur, which disappear after an hour - but little small spots remain. Hopefully they disappear ?!?

Greetings,
Sabine

Hello sabine!

No question is stupid.

You have set the intensity (amount of heat, current) to number “4”. The amount of time the current is active is set at level “4” or “5” meaning the current will stay on for 4-5 seconds after you insert the probe into your hair follicle, then it should go off automatically.
It’s like this: imagine your leg hair follicle is the cake you are going to bake. You set the amount of heat in the oven to 350 degree’s (intensity) and then you set the timer for baking the cake to 30 minutes (timing). If you don’t balance the oven heat with the correct amount of time it takes to cook the cake then you will either undercook or overcook the cake. Same principle with electrolysis.

I think it is perfect to start as a beginner using a foot switch until you get really comfortable with making perfect insertions. You’ll go at your own pace even though tapping the switch with your foot can be annoying when you lose it under the table.

The mosquito bites are fine and the small spots will gradually disappear. You are destoying hair growing tissue, so you must expect some skin reaction like reddness and swelling. This is a usual outcome for the body areas. Ice and cold aloe vera gel are good aftercare ingredients to apply. Make sure the hair slides out pretty well. Some pop out because the bottom “root” is big or some hairs might be resistant because of the old, dry white roots that can be a very resistent part of a telogen hair. If it is too ouchy, play with the intensity and timing to get it more tolerable for you AND…Keep working hard.

Dee

Hi Dee.

thanks for the great explanation with the cake ;-))

Makes it much more logically. At the moment I am stepping the pedal every little time, because I am scared that it will be painful, if I step continuously. Hopefully the machine is forgiving me the constant stepping. In a way I feel saver with that. On the other hand I am asking myself how I should do this with somebody else, if I am starting with a very low level, it will take too long (or stepping 100 time the pedal…), if I put a higher level it could be painful…

But as you said, it just a matter of practising and working hard enough…

I will buy electrode patches with an adapter clip, because it seems more comfortable than having a part always on the sponge (makes my back hurt, having one leg on the sponge and working on the other). Do you or anybody has good experiences with the electrode patches - or any other idea where to put the electrode without feeling uncomfortable, especially with practising on the own body…

Thanks & greetings,
Sabine
