Which of these lasers is best for me?

Hi,

I am looking to have laser hair removal on my back and shoulders. I am a Polynesian with light to medium brown skin. There are a number of different laser options in my area. Is anyone able to tell me which one of the following they think would be best for me? Thanks.

  1. Candela Gentlelase
  2. Candela Gentlelase Plus
  3. Gemini Laser
  4. Coolglide 1064 laser
  5. Syneron Elos 810 nm diode laser
  6. Revlite EO Q-switched Nd:Yag Laser with Photo-Acoustic Energy

Well anything YAG I’d say. 1064nm wavelength if you want quick reference :wink:

Which means: Coolglide, Revlite (might be bonus for having a shorter wavelength if you have lighter areas) and Gemini (just on the 1064nm function). Candela may work if you are Fitzpatrick 3 or lighter, you’ll have to get your consultant to let you know for sure.

I think if you area looking at getting hair removal on your back and shoulders, you are best to make sure that the hair is of the right colour (dark) and density (coarse) because laser can potentially stimulate or not permanently disable the hair.
