I have skin type II, I’ve read that the best lasers to use are alexandrite or diode:
Are all Lightsheer lasers diode?
Is the Cutera considered a Nd:YAG?
Should I stay away from these types of lasers?

LightSheer is a brand of laser made by Coherent. So yes, all LightSheer lasers are diodes. Cutera is a company that makes several types of laser, one of them is a Coolglide Yag laser.
For best results, you need an alex (best. example GentleLASE) or diode. Yag is better for darker skin.
Please read the FAQs at the link below.
Also, it would help if you provided more info on whether you’re male or female, what areas you’re looking to treat, and what type of hair you have there (color, coarseness etc)
I’m a male(irishman). I want to treat my back, shoulders and back of neck. I have dark hair and light skin. My hair is pretty coarse, but I’ve had alot of laser hair removal treatments a few years ago, so it’s not as coarse as it used to be.
An Alexanderlite laser such as GentleLASE or Apogee are most appropiate for dark hair, light skin. When you say the hair is not as coarse, is it still somewhat and just as importantly, dark?
Is there any peach fuzz/light hair around any of the areas you want lasered?
Have you used any temporairy hair removal methods since your last laser sessions?
Kind regards,
Benji
Yeah the hair is still as dark. Some of the hair on the middle part of my back is blonde, but the majority of it is dark. Since my last laser sessions the only thing I have done is shaved.
Shoulders can be hard to treat if the hair is not very coarse. You can try it with an alex laser at high settings, but you may need to switch to electrolysis. Laser has limitations with finer hair.
