Which Laser Clinic I should go with

I have done the free consulting with American Laser & local skin&weight center.

The price for full front & back by local skin&weight center is $2000.00, while American Laser is $2,900.00 & when I told them about local clinic they said the will do price match and give me $2,000.00. Both place prices are for 6 treatments.

My skin is TYPE V ( I am East Indian male). The local people use ND:YAG laser while the American Laser will use IPL laser.

The price wise American Laser is $2,000.00 with 2 year guarantee & local clinic is $2,000.00 with $60 for follow treatment after first 6 treatments. So American Laser wins base on price and guarantee upto 2 years.

My question is which clinic should I choose base on Laser and what would be other criteria.

basic research on this site will give you your answer straight away. I’ll spare you the 5 minutes though: An IPL machine will not give you permanent reduction under any circumstance. It’s a borderline joke/scam. You might as well use Nair. A YAG laser on the other hand is legit and is particularly well suited to treat persons with darker skin.

So if those are your only two options and you are looking for actual long term effectiveness, the decision practically makes itself.

Thanks Nesta2347 for your input. What you think of the price quote? Is it considered a good deal?

Hi. I am just new here, I’ve been reading some post and researching facts about laser hair removal so I’d have an idea and enough knowledge when I decide to give it a go but I also really wanted to seek advise if you know the best clinic around Heathrow area? If you can refer one that would be so great!! Thanks in advance and happy new year to y’all!

And also would love to know more about the difference between lasers and IPL systems as I am hearing a lot about it… Thanks!

does full front and back mean chest/abs/shoulders/back? If so at 6 sessions @ $2k=$333 per session. I think that is a pretty good deal. I pay $250 per treatment, but I think that the price I found is exceptionally low.

keep in mind that just as important as machine type is practitioner skill/knowledge. The wrong settings with the right machine will not produce optimal results. Practitioner must be willing and able to treat you with the highest settings s/he can without burning your skin (fyi, if the place tells you that the treatment will be pain free they are either lying or are using settings that are too low.)

This isn’t a good clinic. Run a search here and Google and see the bad reviews for yourself. I would not give them any money.

You also shouldn’t be looking at prices. You should be looking for clinics that have the right type of laser for your skin type first - a Yag type in your case. THEN, you should be comparing test spots and choosing a clinic that will set correct settings. Low settings won’t get you results.

There are no guarantees for results in this industry. Those guarantees just offer you more treatments, i.e. if you’re not getting good treatments and results, more bad treatments is not going to change your results.

You also need to understand that laser only works on coarse dense growth. If you treat finer hair, it will likely become worse, not better.

@LAgirl. Thank you for the advise, I have come a long way researching and visiting clinics now (as mentioned in other message thread) my struggle is really in financial aspect and to know which really is the best machine as of all them claims they are but I am afraid just to give in easily. Thanks again.
