I’ve been getting electrolysis treatments around my nipples every three weeks since early December (2006). I have a mixture of coarse and fine hairs, and there are quite a few of time. Prior to my electrolysis treatments, I was a daily plucker. I’m female.
I’m wondering roughly how long it will take for me to see significant results. I’m concerned with the coarseness of hairs moreso than the quantity, because shaving doesn’t seem to work very well with the coarse hairs. Should the hairs become increasingly fine or will some coarse ones still keep coming up for awhile?
I know I need to be patient, but the reason I ask is that I don’t really feel that I could date anyone at this point and I’m trying to get an idea of when I’ll be able to control the situation with shaving.
you can also clip the hairs. they will get increasingly fine. just make sure to get clearance every time you go in. hair on this area has longer cycles, so it will take a bit over a year to finish up completely, but i had mine under control within 6 months.
The nipple area goes fast. If you are not feeling any plucking sensation and your practitioner is doing blend for the coarse, sometimes distorted hairs in this area, then you should be well on your way. Another thing is getting first clearance and keeping the area clear. Did she clear both sides in the first treatment?
Keep in mind that 9-12 month rule for the minimum time you will need to achieve permanency, however you will notice long before that that you are seeing sparser, thinner hairs. If you are not feeling this kind of progress within the 3-6 month range, then something is off. She has to use enough intensity and go deep enough for these type of hairs, or this will drag on.
If more women knew about how easy it is to rid themselves of breast hair, they would all be saying, “Why didn’t I do this a long time ago?” I find that once the Mom’s figure this out, then they are sending their daughters, then their daughters are sending their friends, then the friends are sending their Mother’s and so on…
I’m getting cleared every visit. I don’t feel insertions or any plucking. I believe she’s only using thermolysis, but she does seem to vary intensity/duration of heat for each hair (although I don’t look so I don’t know if she’s going longer/higher for coarser hairs or if it’s my imagination.) She says we’re straightening the hairs right now so they can be zapped for good and I do seem to get a lot of in-growns.
The fine hairs seem sparser already, but the coarse hairs not so much.
Thanks for the responses! I know that permanent hair removal is worth it in the end, but it’s frustrating to not be able to pluck or wax while you’re going through with it.
Then clip the hairs and go get them zapped as soon as their ugly little faces appear. Get full clearance everytime amd then you won’t be tempted to wax or tweeze.
Any modality will work, I personally prefer blend in the beginning and then I finish off smaller hairs with thermolysis, THOUGH! I could still effect them with thermolysis if I wanted to at any time in the process. Doesn’t matter that much, just a strategy that has worked well for me. In any event, you will be so very pleased, Squash.
