Hi, ok, I think I am getting over loaded with info reading all the posts. Most of the posts don’t fit my type so I am hoping someone can help me out. I am female, asian, olive skin, black hair. I would like to get laser done on my face…which has fine black hair…peach fuzz type…but black so it is noticible. The chin hair is thicker and also upper lip hair is thicker (could be from tweezing and threading all these yrs). I would also like to get bikini done but skin tone there is darker tan. Can someone recommend what laser machine I should be looking for? Will IPL work? Also, some friends have told me that if I shave my face LOTS of times before any treatment, then the result will be much better and less sessions. Is that true? thanks!

Your facial hair is NOT suited for laser. Laser only works on COARSE dense hair. Just having dark hair is not enough. In fact, laser can induce MORE hair to grow if you treat fine facial hair. You need electrolysis on this area.

For bikini, you need a Yag type of laser like GentleYAG or Coolglide.

Yes, you have to shave before each treatment. This needs to be done for treatment. Every clinics will tell you to shave. It’s not an option, but it’s not something that you need to be concerned with anyway since shaving doesn’t do anything to the hair.
