What do you think?

Hi.

I’ve been doing electrolysis for a bit more than a half a year now. I’ve been going consistently once a week, probably missed few weeks since I started seven months ago. I’m thinking whether I should change and go to a different place since I’m not sure whether the results I’m getting is good or not. I started with my face (neck, jawline, sideburns & a few on the cheeks), then my upper leg, ocassionally going back to my face whenever there are regrowths. It’s now seven months after and I’m still doing my face. For the upper leg, marks are still visible even though I only started it 2 months ago. I don’t know if this is making good progress or should I go to a different place. For the face, it does seem like the hairs are not coming back and even it came back it came back thinner. When I first started,I had really coarse hairs especially on the neck. But still, hairs are still coming back. The lady whose doing the treatment for me is not an electrologist but she’s got an electrology diploma from a beauty school. I don’t know if I should go to a different place. What do you guys think?

Seven months is fine. You said yourself that you only get your face done occasionally now. Your hair cycles mean that you should be getting your face done occassionally for the next 4 months still. Talk to your electrologist because it sounds like she knows what she’s doing. The only thing you should be concerned about is the marks on your upper leg. Tell her about your worries.

Those marks will fade with time. Electrolysis can take 9-18 months to complete if you stay consistent. As long as you see improvement, then be happy. Do get cleared of ALL bothersome larger hairs each time you go to a session and don’t fret about the really small hairs left behind - they are supposed to be there! Tell your electrologist about the marks on your thighs - maybe she can go a little easier or change to a different modality.
