The circled area is one of a test patch I did six weeks ago. I don’t know what settings were used but they were definitely high because I spent weeks looking like I had bad acne in that area. It looks like that now, like tiny black spots. Do you think these can fade smoothly?
I am not sure, it seems to look like acne. Is it itching in this area ?
Maybe some professionals in this forum will help you to get more answer.
I know it looks like acne but those are still marks from the session. In the mirror they look like black spots, almost. No it doesn’t itch nor hurt, thankfully.
Alright, thank you.
I see no problem here. Actually, I’m wondering if you had electrolysis on the area above and below the circle, too?
If the area within the circle is from electrolysis and not acne, these temporary skin manifestations will fade with time. Do you want the hair permanently gone even if you have some temporary skin imperfections?
Not above - but below definitely. I’m having the area under my chin treated by another electrologyst. We do around 10 minutes sessions every other week to leave the skin time to heal. It still bears the marks from my last session (and probably the one before it) two weeks ago. I skipped the appointment this week cuz I’m down with a tonsillitis.
It is good to hear it’s not permanent. I was worried because it’s been a while. I guess I’ll just let it be and wait for things to heal.
Thank you for your reply.
If I were your electrologist, I would like to know about your concerns. I’m assuming you have mentioned this to her/him? The reason I like feedback is because I may want to change the recipe for intensity and timing, so as to minimize a prolonged healing scenario. This kind of thing does cause angst for the consumer and does not reflect well on the word and process called ‘electrolysis’. People associate electrolysis with scarring and being a slow solution to their hair problem. It does not have to be either.
The one that did that test patch is another electrologyst - not the one working on me right now. I did call them to let them know but she was not available. She’s supposed to call me back. I hardly hear from them because they’re from another city and only come to this city to attend clients once in a blue moon (they don’t even know themselves when asked). So with this scenario it would take very long indeed to achieve any result, what with 15 minute sessions every other month or so.
As for my current electrologyst I have asked her to lower the intensity because the area below the chin takes longer to heal.
