What cause wrinkles on upper lip

I’ve just started treatments again on my upper lip and am sure I’m seeing wrinkles that were not there before

My treatments have been very short,10-15 hairs taken out and on the lowest setting possible

I’m just curious to know what causes wrinkles to occur when having e treatments, I felt some pain on some insertions

Wrinkles can happen from the area being over treated. The upper lip is a very delicate area…if you have pain upon insertion…this is not normal. The upper lip area is the most painful in my opinion…but…you shouldn’t feel the insertion. I have posted here before with pictures of the damage to my upper lip from being over treated. It definitely can and does happen. It has been 9 months since my treatment and I still have hard raise pouches at the corners of my lips that The Dermatologists say is scar tissue. It is not going away and is permanent. I too have more wrinkles from it as well. Trust your instincts and find another Electrologist if you are concerned. I wish I had.

The reason I like pictures is because there are wrinkles caused by other things too. Smoking and using straws or spouted water bottles frequently can cause this. Rhagedes can be an inherited, caused by habit, caused by sun damage.

Yes, severe over treatment with electrolysis can cause this, too, but it is pretty rare.

Hi Dee! I just took two current pics of each side of my lip…it won’t let me upload as it says file is to big. Gotta remember how I did it last time…lol. I will post when I figure it out. Basically the areas look exactly the same…hard pouches you can actually feel with your fingers. The right side of my lip got the wrinkles…not the left side. Very strange!

I use photobucket. Upload the picture to photobucket. Copy the IMG tags and then paste the tags to your post. Remember, quality photos matter!
