What are the contraindications for thermolysis?

I see lists of “don’t do electrolysis if you have…” but they never specify between galvanic and thermolysis. Are the contraindications the same or different? Everything I look up on shortwave diathermy is not talking about it in the context of electrolysis.

most of the galvanic or ELECTROLYSIS concerns are based around the dc current travelling through parts of the body with unknown results, Think things like pacemakers for example which may be oblivious to thermolysis currents. The exception to this rule that I can think of, is cochlear ear implants. These actually have device manufacturers warnings ( and warranty voiding) with either modality. That’s the onluy restriction I can think of off the top of my head for thermolysis, but there are likely other scenarios.

Thee are not any contraindications to thermolysis. Seana, I will be studying up on the coch implants. Thanks

active skin disease, implanted pacemakers, other electronic implants, lack of skin/temperature sensation, hypertrophic/keloid scarring, history of skin cancer
