I’ve been told after a treatment all your hair will shed within about 3 weeks and should stay smooth until regrowth at 8-12 weeks. I was wondering if it would be ok to wax a day or so after a laser treatment to help shed those hairs. And I know everyone says No Waxing but I’m curious how it would negatively effect your results if its just speeding up a natural process your body is going to go through anyways? And I’m not talking about continually waxing up until your next treatment, I just mean once soon after treatment (once skin has had a few days to heal) to remove hairs that should be shedding. I haven’t undergone any laser treatments yet but I will be soon on my legs and bikini.
if you wax you will have no way to effectively gauge the success your first treatment!
Try to be patient Cassandra, I promise you that there is nothing quite as nice as feeling the treated area a few weeks later and thinking - oooooh, that’s smooth. But, nothing quite as bad as when the little devils start to grow back in again LOL.
If you wax you may be removing untreated hair. For me, at least, I was left with zebra patterns after both of my 2 treatments for brazilian. I hate it because I have completely bare areas where the laser touched, then strips of hair that were apparently never hit by the laser.
