Very impressed with Andrea's honesty

Andrea, I would just like express on my behalf (and I am sure everyone else who reads this site from time to time!) how amazed I am by your unquestionable honesty and the way you put information on here in an unbiased fashion.

This is what makes this site unique!

Well done and keep up the good work!

LadyPersia, UK.

I got censored today at consumerbeware.com. I tried to type in www.hairfacts.com in my statement, and it posted as “lies-by-liars.com” . I tried to correct it, and back it came. It was nothing like an endorsement, advertisement, etc. for your site. It was purely meant to direct the consumer to some good information you had on your website about the history of x-rays and hair removal.

I was totally naive as to why this happened and after I sized up the situation, I immediately was offended and became distrustful of consumerbeware.com as an unbiased consumer website. I was really enjoying the topics of discussion and learning a lot from Kitty and her moderators, just as I do here, and then this happened. I feel very let down and asked them, “Just who should the consumer really be beware of?”

As I search for information and free interchange, I don’t expect to and don’t care to get caught up in other people’s disagreements. It bores me and interfers with the courteous, fair, and unbiased conversations I desire and expect.

Thank you for conducting your website with respect towards those of us that offer comments and questions.
Whatever the problem is between you and “Kitty”, it’s yours, but when someone tries to censor me, it’s mine.

The very first time I ever visited Kitty’s Consumer Beware, I hit the wall with her immediately.

You see, I had recently passed the the International Board Certification Exam and on her site was/is a “quiz” to see just how much you know about hair removal. I took the quiz as a goof, knowing that with all the answers still fresh in my memory, I would no doubt pass. Well, it should surpise no one that I failed their exam exactly because I answered the questions in the way that would have me pass the CPE, or any other scientific hair removal exam.

I then went back and retook the test giving answers I knew to be wrong (but pro LASER) and guess what? I got a 100% that time.

I usually avoid talking about their site at all, but there are some things that are so obviously slanted that it just isn’t even funny.

Here on HairTell, we may argue about what the truth may be, but we are not censored for content.

As they say, if you build it, they will come.

The reason this is the most popular hair removal forum is that it’s based on facts, not agendas. Once the framework was in place, it quickly became populated with many like-minded contributors who want to help others by sharing information.

This forum shows what the true potential of the internet is. Honest people outnumber quacks and scam artists by a wide margin, and when we all work together, they don’t stand a chance!

Thanks to all our 7000+ contributors! I am still amazed at how smoothly everything goes here, even when we disagree. It’s a real testament to the class and quality of each of you!

Actually I think its a testament to you Andrea. I think people are very pleased with the comfort they have found here in your creation and the honesty just overflows. At consumerbeware, I think they want you to beware of electrolysis and only trust that one laser lady that frequents. I used to go there before I found hairtell and I thought, “My God, I’ll never be able to become hairfree like I want to.” Then I found hairfacts and hairtell and things became a lot different. That site is such a load of crap it just shows that anybody can put anything on the internet. Sometimes this site is pro-laser, sometime pro-electrolysis. The most important thing is that its always pro-customer and pro-information.
On a yahoo! group for electrolysis somebody posted something about consumerbeware.com being the best hair removal site out there. The next day someone chimed in and said not really, make a post about great results with electrolyis and see how long it lasts. Then it mentioned hairtell and you Andrea and it said to post something about that and see how long that lasts!
I can honestly say hairtell has made my hair removal woes a bygone and has provided me with a path to find the best method for me and my budget that will make me permanently hairfree in all the areas I desire. That, in addition to feeling comfortable here with the acceptance and support of everyone and our respective goals has truly changed my life.
Saying thanks would be an understatement.

P.S. someone should copy and paste that up in consumerbeware

I would do it, but it seems that even though I have not been there for years, I am banned from the site.

I wonder how Dat Happened?

I’d like to add that this is a very informative site. I really appreciate Andrea set up a site like this.

We have quite a few disagreements here. After all, we are not framing each other here, and the community benefits.

I was just visiting Kitty again. If you post to the “wrong site”, she will convert it to:

http://www.DO NOT POST THIS LINK.com/

Then, she says in response to the forum users complaint, “What I want is for you to not post links to that website again.” (bold emphasis hers!)

These people got me, got me questioning
Where Is The Love
The Love
Where Is The Love
The Love
The Looooooove

“Kitty” censors inconvenient information.

It’s also been over four years since “Kitty” updated her front page:

http://www.consumerbeware.com/consumer_beware.htm

Notice how that link works just fine on this forum, too.

I guess that’s why this forum has three times as many members and 14 times as many readers at the moment I’m typing this.

“Kitty” gives all the quacks a place to talk about the unproven hair removal products and unguents they made in their garages and bathtubs. So at least that performs a valuable service-- by keeping those people off this site, where we prefer to discuss legitimate products.

Meow!

Hi James:

If you really want to know “where is the love?” then you have to listen to Roberta Flack!

I think she is unappreciated, and a fine singer.

Alicia

Do you think Kitty would accept a gift of both the Black Eyed Peas and Roberta Flack from me? Would it bring Peace in the Middle-West?

You should really be a comedian, not an electrologist, James. We could call you “King James Leno Letterman Rock Walker the VII”. You could make more money, honey, because you are just that funny. hmmm, guess I should be a poet?

I am “sorry” to say that “Kitty” and friends are nowhere to be found. Am I mistaken,or what?? Is that a defunct hair site, or what?

Thank You,
Thank You Very Much.

And now, a long distance dedication. To Kitty, Kim and all our wonderful friends here around the world at HairTell. The King is going to sing for you all. (Imagine Elton John’s “I’m Still Standing” sung like an Elvis Impersonator) To Quote Xena, “I have many skills”
