hi i have been going for about 2 weeks now. i have decided to do my arms first. it is going very well. my question is
for electrolysis on average how long does it take for the hair to be completly gone. i have never shaved my arms before.
Shaving has nothing to do with the length of time it will take to reach the finish line, but it can be helpful to shave or clip 3 days before an electrolysis treatment.
You ask a question that only you can answer.
How much hair do you have? How thick is it? How dense is it?
How many hours are you willing to invest per week, up front, for treatment until first clearance is obtained?
Are you willing to “wipe the slate clean” and have your arms waxed before starting electrolysis?
What type of electrolysis is your practitioner proficient at doing? Microflash? flash thermolysis? manual thermolysis? Blend? Galvanic?
You can go as fast or slow as you want. I would suggest an aggressive plan to get the offending hair and then consistent sessions to maintain the area until there is no more offending hairs left. You will still need, at the fastest rate, to go through three hair growth cycles or 9-12 months.
My personal preference for my clients is to perform microflash thermolysis for the arms. Works like a charm.

for fastest treatment, you need to wax your arms first and go in as often as possible to get to your first clearance, so that you’re only getting new hairs in the right growth phase after that. if you do this, you should be pretty much done at around 12 months. if you don’t do this, then add more time to the final finish line.
THANK YOU. I HAVE THIN HAIR BUT DARK. THE LADY DOING THE WORK IS WICKED NICE AND SHE IS USING microflash thermolysis. IT DOES GO PRETTY QUICK. SHE SAID AROUND 9 MONTHS I SHOULD HAVE NO HAIR LEFT. I JUST WANTED A SECOND OPNION. THNAK YOU. YOU WERE RIGHT ON THE MONEY
We keep 'splaining here about microflash technology, but some of the hardest people to communicate this information to are other electrologists. They are comfortable with whatever electrolysis modality they know best and that is perfectly okay. It is their choice what they use because all modalities permanently remove hair.
It is up to you the consumer to decide where to spend your hair removal dollars after you sum up all the bits of information about the variety of hair removal options available.
Check back with us, and share your experience, okay?
Thanks,
Dee
How long does it take for the hair to be completely gone?
It is truly impossible to give a specific length of time. What we can tell the client is that consistent clearing of all the hair will get it done faster than inconsistent treatments.
If you are clearing your arms every week, perhaps you will be done in 9 months. Most clients need to budget their time and dollars and are unable to do that, since those first 2 months may require more than several hours a week to clear the arms.
