used Apilus Senior II

Is $2600 a good price for a used Apilus Senior II with IMM-PAC and a 1 yr warranty a good deal?

That’s not a “steal of a deal” but it is not outrageous either.

Thank you for your response. I figured about as much. It will arrive on Dec. 20th. I am currently reading a couple of books and preparing.

You’re gonna love the luxury of being able to treat yourself when EVER you want! Ah, I love having my own machine at home!

Whenever I want at long as I can see and reach. I received my machine a couple of days ago. I have finished reading Cosmetic and Medical Electrolysis and Temporary Hair Removal. I will be starting on The Blend Method next, followed by Modern Electrology: Excess Hair, Its Causes and Treatments. Right now I am trying to decide on a needle type and manufacturer. I still have not bought a magnifying glass either so I still have a little ways to go before I start.

Good luck to you and your new toy! Sounds like you made quite a good investment.

I always was apprehensive about investing that much in a machine. But i have to say my Silhouet Tone machine that i bought off of eBay for 150$ gets way more use than my Gentronics epilator (which i bought for 500$). Bottom line, it doesn’t take some computerized chip to achieve results, just a little trial and error for the newbie!

Oh! And an update as to how you like it would be much appreciated as well, let me know what i’m missing out on.

Just a recommendation, i use a product just like this that i got off of Amazon for 25$.

Thats true, you can get good results without a computerized epilator, especially if you are using blend or galvanic. Even with a high end epilator like the apilus platinum it will still take a good deal of trial and error to learn how to use it effectively.

That said, a computerized epilator is a major benefit since they allow faster treatment times with reduced pain and controlled, reproducible current delivery. Now that I have done enough experimentation to know how to use my SX-500 well, I can kill even the thickest facial hairs with less than one second of treatment. Really it still amazes me that it is possible to apply a couple of .01 second pulses with very little if any pain, and then pull out a fully coagulated root sheath. With blend I would be looking at maybe 10 seconds at a tolerable pain level or 4-5 seconds of significant pain to accomplish the same thing.

In my opinion it is a very good investment for a committed DIYer, especially considering that the resale value of the higher end machines is very good… as long as you buy used and don’t significantly overpay you will likely be able to sell it for about the same price you bought it for after you are done =)

Thanks.

Thanks. I will be starting a new thread soon discussing what I have, requests on what I may need, and asking for any and all suggestions from the community. Will also be posting pics and possibly links to vids, depending on the quality.

I will be showing what I decided on for magnification in the new thread. I may still buy a loupe for another project. I felt lost in a “sea of loupes.” Thank you for the suggestion.

The new thread I have started is under DIY titled
