I am totally lost. People tell me different things, and the instructions of my Emjoi are not clear enough.
How must I hold the epilator?
Should I go in the direction of the hair or against it?
I have tried against and it worked well so far, but most people seem to say to go in the same direction, not the opposite…? Help!
If you get one thats high quality like the Body Bare which I have (www.bestpersonalshave.com) you can easily go against the grain otherwise you just won’t get that smooth shave. Also I suggest you move in circular motions because sometimes your hairs can be stubborn and actually lay down on your skin making it hard to get in the foil of the shaver. My 2 cents <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif" alt="" />

Well, that’s wonderful, but that’s not what she was asking.
She’s asking about epilators, which pull hair out by the roots, not rotary shavers.
In response to epilators, go against the grain. Generally, whichever side the on/off switch is on, that’s the direction you wanna go in. Or better yet, hold the epilator with the barrel up. Now look at which way the barrel rotates. The side in which is rotates downward is the side, and the same direction you wanna move the epilator against the grain.
Now of course, all hair doesn’t grow in the same direction, so you may have to move the epilator in multiple directions to grab the hairs. Just depends on which way the hair grows.
I’m a fairly hairy guy and I have been doing my whole body and you’d be surprise how many different ways hair grows in even the same area. I find the hair around my elbows on my forearm are a bitch to get.
Use it against it! Or you will just never get a good clean shave!
Ummm hello!!! She was talking about epilators…NOT shavers!!!
