upper arms electrolysis

im a guy 23. last 2 years ive been getting some hair in my upper arms.i really dont like it at all. i ve been working out these arms in gym for more than 4 years and now that they are preety big and mucscular, hair comes out and ruins the entire look. for me is like a nightmare.i have started to go to gym with long-sleeved shirts because of this. the reason im having this hair i think is genetics. i have never used steroids or any kind of stimulators during my gym that can have affected this.
During this time ive been searching in the internet for a possible permanent solution and ive discovered Electrolysis.
i ve learned a lot reading about that but never had the courage to start that. the reason is because i feel shy.

i need some extra information for some questions if someone can help.

1.how many hair can an electrologist treat in a 1 hour treatment.

2.what about thick hair? do they come out thinner or do they go out forever in one treatment

3.does hair come shorter after treatments?

4.and lastly.does anybody have any photos during the electrolysis treatments. im not asking just for a before and after photo. i need some photos that can show the effect of electrolysis during time.some photos taken during treatmens that can show progression.i need them because i want to be more clear about the idea of the speed and the results over different period of time.

i would appreciate your answers

Electrolysis would be a great way to go for your muscular upper arms. Being that you are only 23, you can get started and treat the hair that you have this year, but do expect that Mother Nature will continually bless you for the next 20 years with new hair growth.

Every electrologist is different in her or his approach. Speed is needed. Here’s what I would look for:

Find a modernly equipped electrologist who has a computerized brand epilator that is capable of doing microflash or picoflash thermolysis. The faster forms of thermolysis is destruction of the hair growing tissue with heat, just like the slower forms of thermolysis. They all work so why not go faster? Select someone that has good vision wear as one needs to clearly see the the follicle opening in order to aim at the target. They need a good light source, as well. With the proper set up and good skill, an electrologist can speed along and do anywhere from 500-1,000 insertions per hour. A solid, well engineered, powerful, professional epilator will kill man hair swiftly. Tools matter.

Thick hair is no problem. A probe much match the diameter of the hair and a good electrologist will have all sizes available. I like gold or insulated probes and I ususally chose a size 5 or 6 probe for man hair. If a size 2 probe is used, it is more uncomfortable and you will have more regrowth. Some hairs need to be treated a second time, but those hairs are weaker and finer the second time around and are eliminated permanenetly .

Didn’t understand question #3.

Photo’s? I can only verbalize that you need at least 9-12 months at the minimum to reach your goal. You could be finished in the minimum time, if you stay true to a schedule, but some people need 13? 14? 15? 18? months? If you want faster than that, there is nothing.

You will probably have pinpoint scabbing. It heals well. Don’t worry about this.

If you want speed, then get in your mind that fastest speed is found with a skilled, modernly equipped electrologist who uses MicroFlash or PicoFlash thermolysis. Speed to satisfaction takes about a year or a little more. This a personal project that takes personal discipline and effort, but on the other side, you need a professional electrologist, or you will get very frustrated. Go on the hunt and sample as many as you can so you can make a better decision.

Photo’s anyone?

Dee

I could post a few photos that show the back of my neck and cheeks but there is a problem. I don’t know how to do it lol. I have wanted for some time to post photos under my treatment but this web-site is very complicated.
If someone can help me with that that would be great.

Dee,

Quick question. Why would you recommend electrolysis in his case and not laser?

is there a preffered method depending on the area? I would think that since it is a large area, laser would be his best bet.

I had a couple of session sof electrolysis on my legs a couple of years ago (before the laser boom). Needless to say I gave up as the area was too large and had too many follicles- and so it took forever.

Hi Maribel,

This is an area where laser induced hair stimulation could be a problem. Electrolysis is not for small areas only. When electrolysis is performed as described above, hair can be removed with efficacy and assured permanence with no fear of waking up hair follicles that were not a problem before. You can do a search here on hairtell and read the discussions about laser induced hair stimulation. There have been several men who have come on here to complain about this shocker!

I do suggest laser hair REDUCTON on the lower legs for my clients that are good prospects for LHR. I treat lower legs after laser has done it can. If one wants electrolysis only on their legs, much can be accomplished if the electrologist uses the faster forms of thermolysis on the best computerized epilators, in auto sensor mode. Many electrologists can speed along removing 500 to 1000 hairs per hour for this non-challenging area. It has to be done correctly using the best tools available today. Some electrologists are only comfortable using other modalities of electrolysis that are slower and offer more sensation for the client. That may be what you experienced.

Laser will not help you if your hair color, skin color or hair structure is not ideal for the laser light.

I’m glad I found this thread. I’m 22yr old female and I had IPL for hair removal on the upper arms (it was really fine, shouldn’t have got it done) and now have medium thickness hair there that was induced by IPL.

I’m seriously considering getting rid of it by electrolysis. I’m worried about the marks it’ll leave though, because my wedding is mid-April! I’ve had electrolysis on a couple of hairs under my chin and have been happy with the results, but because I can’t really see the area I’m not sure how long the marks from electrolysis lasted.

My questions:

  • How often can I do an electrolysis session? Isn’t sessions two weeks apart too soon?

  • I use a body lotion with 10% glycolic acid (AHA) should I stop using it before I get electrolysis? And how soon will I be able to start using it again afterwards?

Thank you!

I’m male 34 and have also suffered from IHG on my upper arms/shoulders from many crappy IPL treatments. I’ve been getting electrolysis on my upper arms, shoulders and entire back for 11 months now - 200 hours in total so far. 2 work on me at the same time for 2 hours so 4 hours/week in total.

No one knows why but upper arms are prone to IHG and this area is very stubborn but electrolysis is the ONLY way out. I hit them hard every 2 weeks or so but they just keep popping up.

The good news is that I look a hellava lot better than I did 11 months ago.
