Update!!

Hi everybody, I wanted to give an update on my situation.

I am still going to my electrologist every week for 1/2 hour appointments.

I guess I see results, still not really sure.

I mean the past few weeks I thought I turned a corner was seeing more progress and less regrowth in the areas she’s been treating. She has started to treat up my face more to new areas.

It’s just still 3-4 days after treatment I still see hairs popping up. I mean I’m glad I don’t have to deal with all the hair in these areas at once anymore since I get them treated every week, but I just want the hairs to die already, not just take turns popping up every 2-3 weeks.

I mean I don’t know what is normal progress for my severe case.
I love my electroligist, she’s been great. I just wish these areas would finally be fully treated or go a week without regrowth.

I know there may be better electrolysis machines and electrologists out there, but I would prefer to keep with my electrologist because of the money and time I have put in to her.
She’s also a good location, price, flexible schedule. I mean I know other electrologists may be faster, but if I will still get results, then I’m okay with it if it’s not quite as fast. I still want there to be results in a reasonable time though, still confused how much time is normal.

I mean I want to continue to give her a chance.

I just feel sometimes my patience is running out and I get upset and discouraged when I still see hairs popping up every week. I missed my appointment this week and I have all these hairs again in the same areas she’s been treating.

I started in Nov. But only did a few treatments, I officially started going every week in Jan.

I am pleased with the areas she clears every week, if it would just stay that way all week, so I don’t have to deal with the areas. I mean she treats many hairs, but throughout the week the areas get hairy again. Yes, it’s reduced less hairs per square inch, but I often wonder if I stopped treatment, would the areas just regrow and it wouldn’t look like I got anything done.

Like I said she has started to treat the areas in less time and started branching up my face, which seems like a good sign of progress, just this week there is more regrowth than there has been this month.

I just don’t know what it’s supposed to be like, I don’t have anything to compare it too. I still feel some tugging, not sure what’s normal.

I have had almost 14 hours of treatment pretty much on the same areas.
I am proud of myself for getting electrolysis and feel it’s the best way to get rid of facial hair. Laser only lasted a month and it gave me headaches, medicine will make the hair finer and stop new growth, but not remove the hair I have, also worried about side effects and natural supplements are probably for minor cases and I don’t want to self medicate.

When I ask my electrologist she just says my case is bad and it takes time for hairs to be weakened and for hair cycles to come through.

However, after she clears an area should the area be hairy again 4-5 days later? Again areas are reduced, but it just seems so long to get these areas to be killed.

Thanks, I just get upset about this and wish I would see more progress, like to have areas not have any regrowth for the week.

Let me draw a little comparison GH.

In mid may I started case with a transgirl who sought a consultation in our office. She has come for 1- 2 1/2 hours every week since, totalling 13 hours treatment so far. In that time I’ve watched about a 50%-60% reduction face wide ( I dont do full clearance in such cases right away, and prefer to scatter my work so I’m not overtreating one area and the hair just seems to fade away). Yesterday I started on her neck, and she saw about a 30% reduction there. The hair, is staying gone for the most part. As I would expect, it would take at least 8 weeks for a new hair to be generated in those follicles. We are just barely about that. It’s not happening though. The hair is staying gone.

About the only place I’ve done nearly full clearances, and seen some of the hair return , is the chin. This i expected, since it’s an area that has densely packed follicles. Still the reduction is quite dramatic, taking years off her looks and causing her coworkers to ask her why she looks 10 years younger than she did a few weeks ago.

About the only way you will see hair return after only a week or so, is if a) the hair has broken inside the follicle ( indicating less than smooth extractions) or if it was already growning and hadnt grown to the surface to be removed.IT takes that full 8-12 weeks for a new hair to generate in most cases.

So, why are your results, with almost the same amount of time put in, so much different?I suppose there is the possibility your body is still generating new hairs to growm but this is usually not so many more than you are treating. Something seems to be wrong with your progress GH, and I’m becoming very concerned over your lack of progress.

Thanks so much for your reply. Yea, she has been treating the sides of my chin and then branch out to up my face to my cheeks. I thought this seemed good since she was branching out.

So, should I be seeing no regrowth within the week on these areas?

Like at this point these areas should remain clear for awhile?

I missed last week and I have alot of hairs that now cover the areas again. Yes, they’re less per square inch, but there are many hairs.

I guess she’s just been plucking me because the hairs don’t even seem finer, some may even seem thicker where soft ones were.

I just can’t believe someone with 30 years of experience is doing it wrong, like I never imagined once I finally got the courage to get electrolysis it would be done incorrectly.

My friend goes to her and she’s seen progress.

I just am so upset.

So, now these areas should be clear and she should have branched out even further?

So, it’s obvious she is doing it wrong for all these hairs to be returning each week?
Like how long would she just keep recleaning areas before she realizes she isn’t doing it right?

Thanks again!

My electrologist said that my hair roots are strong and takes a long time to kill them. Also I am only able to go once a week for 30 min.

However, after 6 months wouldn’t these areas remain clear for extended periods of time?

I also missed last week’s appointment and there was more hair in these areas she had to treat today, so she couldn’t branch out.
Should there be so much regrowth like this just 12 days after treatment?

She seems to know what she’s talking about.
I just don’t know what to think.

When are these areas going to be cleared for a decent amount of time?
It’s been since Nov., 14 1/2 hours.

What type of electrolysis is she doing? Thermolysis may imply more regrowth if the insertions are not super precise.

I’m not sure, she may be doing that one. She puts the probe in and removes the hair, foot pedal machine.

Do you think my progress is normal, what she said sound right?

If she doesn’t hand you an electrode to hold while she zaps you then it’s thermolysis.

I don’t hold anything. What’s an electrode?

I’m getting thermolysis done but I hold an electrode…

If you are really getting thermolysis, then it doesn’t make sense that you would be holding an electrode. The electrode is used to complete the circuit for galvanic or blend.

Huh… Really eh? I assumed thermolysis because it was pretty fast (very very fast… Practically no wait between insertion and beep).
I wonder if I’m just holding it as placebo. How interesting

six of one, half dozen of the other. Some electrologists use the automatic function instead of the pedal, and in such a case you would hold the annode regardless of modality, since it is a very low galvanic current that is used to detect the insertion and deliver the currents automatically

Hi Seana did you get my message?

I did but I’m sorry hadnt gotten a chance to reply yet
