Update/question

Hi, so I’ve still been going 30 minutes a week. However my electrologist couldn’t come this past week. So it has been 10 days since my last appointment on the sides of my chin, but a bunch of hairs have returned.

I have had 7 hours 45 minutes of treatment on the same areas and you can’t tell I had any work done.

Hairs regrow within 3 or 4 days after treatment.

I am literally at a loss.

Is it going to take this long on all areas of my face or do the sides of the chin take longer to kill? The hairs are medium on the sides of my chin and coarser on the jaw.

Does it matter location or does it all take the same time to kill? Like could some location of follicles be harder to kill?

I’ve spent over $500 and still see barely any results? I don’t know what to do.

Perhaps gh101 you should try someone else? If you arent satisfied with the results you are getting then see someone who can give results you are comfortable with. Only seems sensible as a consumer no?

I know, but I have invested so much money and time to just give up on her. She’s such a good price, location and has flexible appointments.

If this is just how electrolysis is then what will someone else do?

I just thought I have a bad case and each section takes just a really long time to see results?

I don’t have anyone else to go to.

"I am literally at a loss … I don’t have anyone else to go to … I don’t know what to do.’

But the point is you DO "know what to do,’ because you ARE going to this electrologist.

So, "Whada youz want?’

Look up the “sunk cost fallacy”

If this is just how electrolysis is then what will someone else do?

We’ve been telling you from the beginning to try someone else.

I don’t have anyone else to go to.

If anything is important enough to someone, they’ll find a way to accomplish it.

I’m at the point of being exasperated.

“If this is just how electrolysis is then what will someone else do?”

This isnt just how electrolysis “IS” . That’s the point. She’s not killing hairs. See someone else, it’s that simple. ADVICE GIVEN! After hearing you talk about this for what, a year now? I’m not trying to go off on you, but you came and asked the professionals and they have, consistently, given you advice. But you havent followed it! There’s been a consistent message, the communication between you and this practitioner is broken and you arent getting results. Why are you consistently donating money to be plucked? I’m not sure that, as professionals, anyone can help you, if you dont take the advice that’s given!

hugs
I’m sorry for being so blunt.

GH101, here’s a thought. You seem to be in Philadelphia from your early posts, how about you google Electrolysis Philadelphia and see what comes up? Here’s a link to get you started!

There’s plenty of good electrologists in Philadelphia:

Hell, if you’re willing to driv 45-50 minutes, here’s someone who can do electrolysis with lidocaine injections not far from Philly:

Thanks for everyone’s advice.

I really do appreciate everyone’s time.

I will make some consultations for other electrologists, just disappointed it didn’t work out with her.

As a side note, I can’t get over how there are electrolgists who say they have decades of experience, but don’t know how to do electrolysis? It’s a shame you don’t know if they are good or not until after you spent months and hundreds of dollars.

Thanks again and sorry to bother you all again

Mama Mia … Pizzeria!

I haven’t been following your story GH.

I’d like to see before pictures. Almost 8 hours of electrolysis? Depending on your situation, that may be a drop in the ocean.

I wish you lived closer. I would take you as a client and put you out of your MISERY!

I’ll work on the pictures.

Yes, but 8 hours on the same spots.

I have coarse stubble all over my face, hundreds of hairs. Not quite as bad as a man, but similar.

Thanks, I wish you lived closer too

I don’t know what that means? Are you cleared of all bothersome hair at each 30 minute session? Have you done any tweezing or pulling of any kind?

Those are just two questions of many I would like to ask.

I have been getting the sides of my chin treated since I started. She has branched a little, but basically the same areas.

Pretty much the areas are 90 percent cleared when I leave, but hairs fill back in throughout the week. Each week the same areas get cleared.

I missed last week’s treatment, now most the hair is back.

I have only bleached and cut these spots. I have never plucked/waxed these areas before.

I hope I answered your questions.
Thanks so much for your help.

If you feel tugging, not good.

Have you asked to see the hair structures? You want to see the full hair with the bulb.

Do you have 250 active follicles per square centimeter or do you have 75 active hair follicles per square centimeter? If you have a lot of hair, then your electrologist is playing MAJOR WHACK-A-MOLE for a while.

I would have to see what your electrologist is doing. I would have to see what your hair problem looks like and understand your internal hormonal happenings, to answer your concerns honestly. Electrolysis works 100% of the time. It does take some patience and time, along with complete understanding of hair growth cycles . There are several hurdles to overcome. The biggest thing you can observe is if you feel tugging and traction when she lifts out the hair. Again, that is the mortal sin of electrolysis.

Thank you so much for your time and explanation. I am really trying to learn how electrolysis works, so when I continue I know what is correct and working.

I have hair pattern like a man. The stubble is close together. Where she has been working the hair dots are maybe not so close together.

I may feel some tugging occasionally, not usually.

I see some hairs and some have a ball at the end.

I just missed one appointment and it seems like most of the hair has returned.

How long for hairs to be permanently gone?

Thanks again, just trying to learn.

Here are pictures. My chin doesn’t look that red in person. I didn’t go out today, so I letmy face grow out a little.
Under my chin never really had that much hair. She has been doing the sides of my chin. The spot that doesn’t have hair never really did.

Thanks

YOU HAVE A LOT OF COARSE HAIR.

There is no way that you can be cleared each time in 30 minutes.
I can conclude that by looking at the first picture. The first picture was less blurry than the remaining pictures. It would be so helpful if you could resubmit pictures that are of better quality.

From MY personal perspective (my strategy) if you were MY client, I would encourage you to get to a first, full clearance as soon as possible. I guesstimate that it would take me about 6-7 hours to clear your facial areas. Breaking up the appointment to three hours one week and three hours the next week would get you clear if not 90% clear? I would use a method called Synchro thermolysis, which is devastating to hair structures like that. It is just as devastating as pure galvanic and blend, but less time is spent on individual follicles.

You need a hirsutism work up to see what is causing all this hair. Your primary care provider can do that for you.

This is a major hair problem. Again, 30 minutes a week, is a drop in the ocean and will only serve to frustrate you.

Getting clearance by a highly skilled electrologist, who can move this along, in order to give you hope, is the recipe for success. The first four to six months is the hardest. You will feel that nothing great is happening, but then you will turn the corner.

If you can’t go with an ambitious schedule in the beginning to remove all the hair, then at least go every week for an hour. Just keep moving forward.

Do your consults. Go to as many electrologists as you can to see what they can offer. We are all different. You need someone that can efficiently go from hair to hair - quickly - destroying those hair in a one and done fashion. This is where my personal passion / beliefs are steadfast, in regard to having a good set up to “kill” those hairs
in one BOP! Equipment does matter - epilator, vision aid, light, magnification, ergonomic chair and table. Background music, too, all matter.

If you are overweight, start reducing. Get a medical evaluation. The internal problem has to be fixed or we will be chasing old hair as well as new hair for two or more years, maybe forever!

I don’t see where your Electrologist can do any better. Your case is challenging and you need to buckle your seat belt and hunker down. Get on the table frequently for longer sessions. Take good before pictures or have your Electrologist take several before pictures and send them to your phone or computer.

You can be helped, but asking when will I be finished is not the question to ask until all other ducks are in a row. You got to have a meaningful strategy that will attack this vicious kind of hair. Don’t give up like so many other people do.

I hope this was helpful. I am being honest with you. I do a lot of cases like this. It is not easy, but it works. If all is done well, you will be finished in 18-24 months, with the need to get short cleanup 2-4 times a year if your hormonal environment dictates that new hair will be stimulated all along your life span.
