uneven bikini line after 1st session

Hi,

I would really appreciate some feedback!!

I went for my first laser hair removal session five weeks ago. (I am type 2/3, the machine was a LightSheer if I remember correctly).

I had my bikini line done among other things and the problem is that the girl seems to have zapped more on one side than the other.

The zapped hair was shed around week 3 and I don’t see any more hair growing in the lasered bikini areas! Some hair has been growing back on my legs and armpits (which I had done in the same session) so hair has been growing in this time! OTOH, the bikini line is whiter and the hairs are bigger so maybe they were indeed permanently removed?

How much hair will grow back after this one session? Is there hope that I might get the desired line and not have to narrow it?

What were your experiences with hair growth in that area after the first session?

Don’t worry. Only hairs in one phase of growth were affected. You’ll see that area get more hair in the next 4-5 weeks, and you will be able to correct the line on the next treatment. It’s best to shave the area a day or two before and ask them to be careful to follow the line. You can also use a white pencil to draw where you want to be treated.

Did you used to wax your bikini line btw?

Thank you, lagirl!

I used a mechanical rotary epilator up to 6-7 months before the laser. After that I used depilatory creams.

I am so upset about the line thing. :frowning: I don’t want to have it narrower than what I had in mind! I just wanted a natural looking shape with no side bits coming out, you know?

As a percentage, how much hair do you think got removed after the first session? 50%? More?

Hair grows in 3 phases. At most, only 30% was affected, but probably less. You won’t notice this in 4-5 weeks. Don’t worry. New hairs will pop up in the exact same place at that time.

I’ve noticed that you get results faster if you remove hair with the root prior to laser. Probably because it synchnonizes the hair growth. The areas that I have waxed before got better results from the very beginning.

Thank you, lagirl, you really eased my mind! Phew
