Tweezing or Threading

Hi there. I have a question regarding preparation for electrolysis on my eyebrows.

I studied some past posts on here and read that it’s recommended from the pros to go see some kind of eyebrow specialist to get the eyebrows shaped perfectly, and then have your regular electrologist follow the growth of these recently removed hairs to finish the process.

Now, it simply comes down to which hair removal method for preparation is most optimal here. I see that James pointed out that the shaper should pluck, not wax. But, I’m not familiar with if tweezing or threading fits better under this advice. So, my question is, which one is a better choice?

Also, can I follow this same sort of protocol for edging sideburns, mustache, and beard hair as well? Or are there any additional parameters I should know of when taking into account the process for these non-eyebrow areas? I ask because it seems unintuitive to assume it’s the same exact protocol, as I read that eyebrow hairs behave differently.

Thank you.

I dont recommend any kind of plucking or threading beforehand.I dont ever remember James suggesting such either.Maybe he’ll comment?

Hi. Thanks for the response. Here’s the link to the post I’m referring to: eyebrows?

For good communication between electrologist and client, if a client wants eyebrows shaped, then I am not opposed to the client initially seeking out the expertise of an esthetician to carefully shape the eyebrows the way the client desires. We then have a template to follow. Many electrologists know exactly what to do in order to shape the eyebrows correctly. I give the client a mirror and discuss certain areas and individual hairs, so there is no misunderstanding. After all, this is permanent and we want to be sure that the client is involved.

An experienced electrologist should be able to combine their skills with your preferences for an excellent outcome. Back in the day, we were trained to properly align brows and other areas that need precise and natural shaping.
