Tugging/tweezing and other questions

Hi folks,

Recently had a session with my electrologist on some hair on the chest area. My eyes were at an angle where I could see at the skin level and I noticed that a lot of insertions were not exactly into the follicle. Despite that, a few times the hair still came out. This left me wondering and freaked out about what the extent of damage is under the skin that even current/heat passed not directly in the follicle can cause hair to be released?!

This scared me a bit.

This lady uses binocular glasses, so I don’t know if that at all influences the accuracy of insertions, whether good or bad.

Second issue is tugging. There were many times I felt tugging. But it was not painful like plain tweezing is. It felt more like the the hair was stuck in the narrow surface opening. BUT…there are a few times when this lady will keep pulling on the hair (it does not hurt…so I guess it means the hair is released from the papilla but there certainly is resistance I can feel) till it comes out. So is it ineffective treatment if it takes multiple pulls on the hair to get it out of the follicles? There have also been times when she would zap the same follicle 4, even 5 times because the hair didn’t release-but this is rare.

Also I’ve noticed 2 tiny scars in hair follicles around belly button where I’ve had thick hair (but few in number) treated. I’m a worried about ending up with such scars all over.I don’t mind that one scar but given that I’m considering legs and arms, that is scary.

My questions are:

  1. Will ‘regular’ inaccurate insertions damage my skin?

  2. How does skin which has had electrolysis (even good electrolysis) age? Any sagging, wrinking etc. that people around here have noticed? (We are after all causing several tiny burns close together under the skin, isn’t it)

  3. According to the above description about resistance, does is sound like my treatments are not as efficient as they should be?

Could just be that the bulb of your hairs are wider than the hair follicle opening happens to me too
as to inaccurate insertion I have done probably way too many on myself DIY’ing but I have never treated my face and my skin looks fine
