Trust student electrologists?

I have found a few beauty schools in London who offer electrolysis. I am not that interested but thought I’d ask you guys how you’d feel about it. Would you trust the salon? I know the students are monitored but when it comes down to using needles… I am not sure I’d do it. I think I’d trust them to do laser hair removal on me though- I haven’t seen a London school that offers this yet.

I would trust a student to do electrolysis a lot sooner than I would LASER! I would have the student prove their abilities on something easy like a leg first, but one CAN get good, although slower work done by students. One just has to make them prove their level of ability first.

Hey emily, would definitely consider it for legs as James has said but that’s about it.

There was another discussion on here about the level of teaching the students in these courses have - it’s just a few days as part of their NVQ training. So just being shown the basics and probably practising on some legs.

Anyway, if you actually manage to attend anything, do let me know. I’ve called a bunch of them and they always say ‘the students are not learning electrolysis yet’ and take my details but never get back to me.

And if you do, it may be worth letting the students know that if any of them are serious about electrolysis and want someone to practice on outside of the course, then you’d be up for it (if you want to that is). Many never try electrolysis again after obtaining the qualification.

BTW stoppit- where did you get your laser done in London?
