Hi guys,
Ive had 2-5 treatments using the SCITON BBL (as follows:
Full Back - 5 treatments
Shoulder - 5 treatments
Chest/Stomach - 2 treatments
Top arm (to T-shirt level only) - 3 treatments
Results 8 weeks after my last treatment are shown in the following:
Basically the SCITON Profile laser features Broadband Light Source (BBL), which allows the device to emit a single pulse ie its equivalent to an IPL. Yes, i am aware that lasers are said to be more reliable in regards results but ill revisit that decision after another 2 visits with the Sciton BBL. So far i am happy with the results but i am aware that ill need to wait another 6 months after my last treatment to determine just how effective the treatment has been. I just want to share my experience and results thus far with the Sciton BBL as during my research i couldnt find much info in regards people having this ‘laser’ for hair removal (The Sciton Profile Yag is a different story).
OK…unfortunately i dont have any ‘before’ photos but looking at the attached photo you can seen the part of my arm which has not undergone treatment to get an idea of how dense and coarse it was on the upper arm, shoulder, chest and back (and thats after the arm hair has been trimmed !!).
Im male, approx 40 yrs old and i would say Fitz 3.
Settings started low with a 640 nm filter, 14 J, and pulse width of 25 ms. But all the later ones have been at 17 J. I will get the nurse to raise it to 18 J at my next visit in about 3 weeks time. Time btw treatments has averaged 8-10 weeks. Although the treatment has been painfull at times i would classify it as more as uncomfortable.
After the first treatment on my back and shoulders i got a shocking does of foccillitus so was given some antibiotics. Was probably my fault as i ended up playing sport the day after the treatment and the sweat probably didnt help !!. After each treatment, even though i got shedding of hair, i was also left with a lot of ‘pepperspots’. I havent really exfoliated but the ‘pepperspots’ eventually get burnt off during next the visit or i just pull them out effortlessly.
After 5 treatments (and 8 weeks from the last) i reckon i have ‘lost’ 70% on the back and shoulders.
After 3 treatments i reckon its about 40-50% reduction.
After 2 treatment i reckon its about 20% reduction.
Hair seems finer and lighter in colour.
Will have two more treatments on all areas and will probably wait for 4-6 mths to review.
My only issue is what to do with my arms. As you can see on the photo, ive only done the upper part of the arm where the typical T-shirt ends. Thereafter its a gorilla arm. Any suggestions ?? Im tempted to have 3-4 treatments to reduce the density.
Look forward to any comments particularly from anyone else who has used the Sciton BBL.
Cheers
CBB
PS- on the attached photos, the photos was taken 8 weeks after last treatment not 10 weeks as noted on photo.
