Toronto Results-Sunnybrook & Baywood Laser Clinics

Hey, I was hoping I could get some feedback on Sunnybrook and Baywood laser clinics. If you have had treatments at either of these locations please post about your experience and your results(or lack thereof).

I really think I am leaning towards Sunnybrook hospital but I would love to hear some feedback from people with some experience to make a better decision.

I have run both clinics through the search engine and have gotten some results. Updates would be very useful and new posts are very welcome.

Thanks.

Did you find out what laser Sunnybrook has yet? Baywood uses GentleLASE but as I had said before their prices are completely ridiculous and a total rip off. Over 3 times as high as most other places. Something like $750 for full legs when I had asked before.

You should mention the city. I know you’re talking about Toronto, but others here won’t. It will be helpful for you to add your city to your profile.

You shouldn’t make a decision based on the name of the clinic. You should call and find out what laser they use first and foremost. Then go in for free consultations and ask questions. You’ll be able to tell who is knowledgeable. You shouldn’t make this decision from reading their marketing information only.

Is it just me or do Toronto people seem to be obsessed with hair removal? Haha, at least based on the location of users on this forum!!!

I been to Baywood Laser Clinic and Betty Chan performed the treatments on me. I got full face done. I was mostly concerned about my chin area which were getting course since I had started to thread and pluck them out. Rest of my face had fine hair including the sides of my hair. I am olive skin complexion, Type IV (4). Not sure what type of laser was used but my guess is most likely what’s listed on their website - GentleLase. I did 8 treatments on my face. They charged me $250 plus tax. I did notice reduced growth after 8 treatments ($2100 dollars later - includes tax at the time 5%). But after 8 treatments I could not afford to go anymore. Its been two years later and I have not gotten any laser treatments since. I still have hair on my chin but its not as worse as before. It hasn’t totally gone. I must say that since i got the laser treatments I had stopped plucking or threading my hair on my chin because I know it makes it worse over time. Now I have to shave it off and its not as obvious. I try to shave it as close as possible so there are no stubles. Anyway looking back I would not go to the clinic again just because I cannot afford to. And the treatments are not worth the price I paid for. I did notice a difference while I was on the treatment but six month down the road, I am back to square one.

Your story and stories like it, is why I tell my clients they are better off getting electrolysis for facial areas. For the price you paid, you could have had more than your chin done. It would have been permanent with awesome precision. I frequently am doing chin, neck, sides of face, upper and lower lip and perhaps eyebrows for what you paid. Such a shame not to be satisfied after spending that much money for one area. Many electrologists work on more than one area at a time and all is finished in 9-18 months, with a good schedule.

They shouldn’t have treated fine hair. Treating full face is never a good idea on women. You need electrolysis.

Hi edokid (and other Toronto residents),

I live in Toronto and was wondering if you could recommend some good clinics.

I am planning to have laser hair removal done for my underarms. I am female Chinese-asian, tan moderately-easy (but I don’t tan) and hair is fairly coarse and black. Are there any places you would recommend (legit, effective, resonably-priced)? Thanks so much, I really appreciate it.

Calex,

Edokid is no longer posting here. Maybe someone else will come forward to help. You can also do a search using the search feature here on hairtell.

Voila

Check your private messages I’ll send you the name of the place that I go, they’re downtown and really good with Apogee Elite so alexandrite and yag which is safe for asian skin. Amazing prices too and the owner is awesome.

Up pops edokid. How long has it been?

Few months at least!

Well, we tease him alot
Because we got 'em on the spot
Welcome back.
Welcome back, welcome back, welcome back.

Glad to be back, missed everyone! Just got back from a session on my face, bruuutal lol. I love my tech she’s like okay fine I want to use 15mm alexandrite on you because I know you hate the yag. Lol. Face was so red but nice that she doesn’t mind cranking the settings when she knows I can handle it. The one girl there always tells me to let her know if I need a shot before they start lol. I find the pain tolerable, besides no pain no gain! Just posted a thread in the at home laser forum, just bought the Tria again (I know I know, was more just to test it to see if it works and to do bikini line etc) so doing youtube video’s as a real test for people.
