I am currently getting electrolysis done to be completely bare “down there.” I have been for 2 sessions so far. Both were very painful. My last appointment was so painful, I told her not to pluck the hair after she zapped it. Will this hurt the productivity of my treatments? Thanks for any advice!
How many electrologists have you tried? Are you open to using a numbing cream?
I’m not sure how not plucking the hair after it’s zapped helps since you shouldn’t feel really the hair sliding out. If you are, something is wrong. It should only hurt when the hair is being zapped.
What color and type is your hair? Have you considered laser? This area responds very well to laser if the hair is coarse and dense.
I have only tried 1 electrologist. And yes, I am using prescribed numbing cream, but it still hurts! BAD!
My hair is dark and coarse. I am in the process of lasering my leg hair and am not satisfied with the results. I have more blonde hair on my legs and obviously, those will continue to grow.
I wonder if I should tell my girl to use more power? She uses the Apilus machine and “zings” me 3 times per follicle. I hate it!
Are you leaving the numbing cream long enough? Most people need it on for 45 mins at least. Is it being used properly?
Lasers are not all made equal. If you have dark, dense coarse growth and light skin, a good alexandrite laser like GentleLASE at good settings will get you great results on that area. For darker skin, a Yag like GentleYAG is needed. We have more information in the FAQs below. If your hair is dark and coarse, you will benefit greatly from reading them, both for your legs and for potential bikini treatments.
You should test a few more electrologists. She shouldn’t need to zap 3 times each time. Once in a while is ok, but almost every time isn’t. It’s hard for you to know what’s a good treatment if you don’t try others to compare.
If you have to ask to up the power, she’s probably not experienced enough in the first place. Eitehr insertions or settinsg are not great.
OK. Thanks for the info. I appreciate it!!
