Too hairy guy needs HELP !

Dear Forum Members,

I’d like to ask a couple of questions from you or your experts who have more experience in electrolisys. I wonder if you have any records or statistics from previous years.

Hair started to grow on my back and shoulder at the age of 17 and 18 and it hasn’t changed since then. I have light brown hair and blue eyes (Europid). The hair on my back is like my hair colour and is about 3 cm long. My grandfather on my mother’s side had similar kind of hair on his back but not as much as I have. Before the electrolisys (2011-2013) I had IPL hair removal but it was unsuccessful. I am 34 now and I belong to the II. skin type. In the last two years about 10 000 hairs (including the recovered ones) were removed from my body with thermolisys (20x500). Two or three months have passed between the treatments. Now 80% of my back is cleared.

My questions are the following:

  1. What experience have you got in male back epilation?

  2. According to experience or literature how much time passes while new hair recovers?

  3. What kind of medical examination do I need to find out whether abnormal hair growth is due to a disease?

  4. Including hair follicles, is it possible to have as much hair on the treated area as it had been before the treatments as I’m getting older?

  5. What are the inner and outer causes of hair follicles recovery?

  6. What conclusions can be drawn from the changes of the subsequent 1 or 2 years after the treatment?

  7. According to experience, genetically, up to what age will new terminal hair recover on a male’s back?

Thanks for your answers.

Yours faithfully : Hun.boy

Jo napot kivanok … (just thought I’d try; maybe?)

As you can see the avalanche of answers to your questions? The thing is, you are asking for a virtual BOOK on the subject. Good questions, mind you, but when I read them I thought … yikes, a university education of answers here (and I’m the long-winded one). This was even too much for me!

Here’s a suggestion: Pick ONE question at a time. Get answers from various people. Once satisfied with the answers, move on to the next subject. Eventually, your questions will be asked.

Nobody “touched” this because, well, it’s too much!

I’ll try to answer a couple questions.

Removing hair per electrolysis for a male can be a huge undertaking. My hour count has ranged between 40 and 200 hours on the table, depending on the amount of hair. That amounts to a lot of patience and stamina for the practitioner and it is thousands of dollars and patience for the client. The positive side: it works. If a man is compliant with an aggressive plan for a year or two, it will be done. That is, if the electrologist demonstrates good speed and can sit and remove hairs for more than an hour.

Will come back later to answer more questions…

Question 3: “3. What kind of medical examination do I need to find out whether abnormal hair growth is due to a disease?”

You are a man. I am guessing a physician would not take your request seriously enough to get blood tests to find out why you are so hairy on your back and shoulders, especially if you may have the inherited charactaristics of your grandfather.

Questions 2 and 5 are unclear to me?

Question 4

You are born with all the hair follicles you will ever have. Some have hair growing in them, some don’t and some have dormant hairs that may come forth according to your genetic blueprint on pre-destined timeline.

Question 6

Successfully treated hair follicles will not come back, but maybe unnoticeable hairs now, may be stimulated by something later and sprout from your skin. We cannot do anything about future hair that may develop .

Question 7

Men usually have their full hair patterns developed by age 35 or 40.

I hope I understood all your questions well enough.

Hello Everybody,
Thanks for your answers. I didn’t expect specific answers but I hoped to have some feedbacks and that there are direct statistics.
Best wishes,
