TMI maybe...but I really need to know

I am currently seriously considering electrolysis. Definitely on my abdomen but I was wondering if its normal or even possible to get it done on my ummm, butt? I feel like I have a hairy man’s butt. Ok maybe I’m exaggerating a little but I do have a pretty good amount on there and was wondering has anyone had it done and is it even possible?

Yes, it is possible, and in my experience, yes, you probably ARE exaggerating. Although I did once have a professional model who actually DID have some really bad stray hairs that were like really thick copper wires springing out from her skin here and there, randomly all over her rear.

On the cheeks? Absolutely, electrolysis can be performed there.

Yep. Electrolysis will work on your bu - tay. Electrolysis delivers permanernt hair removal on any hair structure, any color of hair on any color of skin - ANYWHERE on the body of face.

The hard part is finding a skilled electrologist. Hopefully, some consumers will share their stories with you.

Welcome to hairtell.

You can have electrolysis anywhere. I had it done on the abdomen and it worked out very well. Make sure to read up on the procedure, time lines, fastest way to achieve results, and how to find someone who knows what they’re doing.

Yeah… I’ve been thinking about getting my bikini line & booty zapped… couldn’t find much info on this on the electrolysis forum. Would appreciate some info on how long each session would take (on average), and how many months/years it would take to complete.

The boring truth is that the time to clearance/time to completion question has the same answer no matter what area one is working on. The amount of time to clearance is dependant on the number of hairs, how many their are to treat per square centimeter, and how fast the practitioner who will be doing the work on you, can work on that body part, times the amount of time your appointments will be. The time to completion depends on how frequently you do full clearances, and how close together you do them. The fastest time to completion is 9 months, and anything above that has to do with not being able to get to first clearance fast enough, and/or not being able to have frequent enough treatments for what ever reason.

There is no particular answer for doing this on the rear that would not be the same answer one would find out about doing it on the face. If one had the same number of hairs to remove in both places, it would take about the same amount of time. The only difference is that the depth of the hairs and the treatment energy needed to effect permanent hair removal would be different in these two areas, and the rear may require blend to make it comfortable, although, many people will be perfectly fine with doing this in thermolysis.

I just wanted to thank you all for your responses and for not making me feel like a freak for asking. I’m going to be looking into getting it done soon if I can find someone who does it well. I’ll update once I do since I haven’t read about anyone doing the booty on here…maybe it will help someone else decide if they’ve been thinking about having it done there. Again, thank you all and I look forward to learning alot more from this board!

We tell people all the time that we need their participation, and yet each of them believes that his or her story is not important enough, or that he or she can’t contribute something of value to the site. To those who think this way, I point out that there was once a time when LAgirl was just a lurker who had not posted once. Now, she is making it safe for me to retire!

What type of hair do you have on these areas? For bikini and other other very coarse dense hair you have, laser is usually the more economical way to go. You can read my story and the FAQs on this below. For fine hair, even on large areas, you’ll still need electrolysis.

There are plenty of people who get their backside done. It’s actually one of the more popular areas. So don’t worry about that. Most clinics have seen everything.

And thank you James for the shut out

My bikini-line hair is a mix of brown and red… my understanding is that laser wouldn’t work, even though the hair is coarse.
